According to Dagbladet, a Norwegian emergency-clinic doctor left his patients waiting for treatment this past Wednesday (August 11) while he attended an IRON MAIDEN show in Bergen during work hours.
The doctor, who was one of two physicians on duty the night of the concert, told the Bergens Tidende newspaper that he unsuccessfully tried to switch his shift with another doctor before leaving for the MAIDEN gig. He also said that he was under the impression that things were slow enough at the clinic so that he could afford to make it to work a little bit later than usual.
The doctor has since been relieved of his emergency-clinic duties while the facility attempts to get to the bottom of the situation.

60 year old doctor in Norway left his duties in an emergency room behind - for an Iron Maiden concert
The patient with gallstones were screaming in the halls in the emergency room - but recieved no help.
The doctor in duty was away - he went to see Iron Maiden.
"I have other jobs, and I ain't afraid to miss this out" says Jan Øren.
As the queue just grew and became longer, it became clear for his colleague that he was alone. And it soon appeared that he was not at work - and he was watching the Brittish Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden perform.
Now, the 60-year old doctor gives his views on what happened on the story that has caused controversy in Norway.
"Originally, I hadn't planned to go see them live, and therefore I did not buy a ticket. But eventually, I got an offer to attend the concert as a medical staff. Then I thought why not, it could be fun.", he says to the Norwegian paper VG.
He had asked for the night off, but he couldn't find anyone who could switch shifts with him. He did not give a fuck and went anyway.
According to local newspaper Bergens Tidende, the situation in the emergency room became chaotic as a patient with gallstones was in agony, but the doctor who was all alone in the hospital at that time did not have time to attend the patient.
A few moments after midnight, Jan Øren recieved a call and was told to appear in the ER ASAP, and he left the concert.
"You should be aware that people here in Bergen are extremely impatient, and ungrateful. They come here for the least thing that happens them. There is always a queue here in the ER.
Øren was forced to take those words back.
"I shouldn't have said that. I am born and raised in Bergen as well, and I enjoy the Bergenian mood"
Øren also claims that his colleagues approved of him going to the Maiden concert, and that he tried to switch the evening and night shifts, but only succeeded to switch the evening shift. And the other doctors would also be aware that he would be gone.
His boss says that it ain't an excuse at all, and that he will attend a meeting with the hospital staff.
Jan Øren is not worried though. He says that he earns a million per year and that he has got other works going.
He also mentions his huge music interest.
"My favourite is rock, although I listen to everything in general. Music is my hobby, I play the guitar myself but I do not pronounce my self as a huge Iron Maiden fan.
