Terminator Salvation

Kopfanatic

Trooper
Just seen a trailer on the Apple home page.Christian Bale is playing John Connor so I've high hopes for the film already.Does anyone have any other details ie storyline?

From what I hear, Judgment day happens (the end of the third movie) and there is no more time travel, I think it is about the building up and organazing of the resistance against the satanic machines.

That's because it's been so long in slavery for the humans.  There's no time travel in the new movie, and it is about the rise of the resistance.

And the story could end with John Connor giving Reese his orders for the mission he is about to embark on - and we've come a full circle. :D

It does look interesting, though. But I'm a bit of a Terminator fan, so I would be easily pleased.

Is the TV series considered canon?

You see, I don't watch the TV series. I'm hoping they don't make the new movie in such a way that the viewer is expected to have seen the TV version.

And I think Albie just came up with the perfect ending. If they don't do that, then the writers need to be slapped.

The TV series is good... but I would think that the story would play the same with or without watching it.  I'd imagine the series gives you a little more 'depth of character' for John, but nothing necessary.

It's a new trilogy that's coming out, so there's going to be a 4,5 and 6.

Also the TV series in not film canon, its set after an alternate ending of T2, where T3 didn't happen, whereas the new trilogy is set in canon, after T3.

I wasn't a fan ot T3 really, but love the first two, so I'm curious about how these new movies will turn out. The whole gimmick of time travel and Terminators infiltrating society as humans is lost now, as the only sort of infiltration that I can think of would be like that scene with Kyle Reese in the future of T1.

And I thought the TV series was shite, Sarah Connor in it is useless, nothing at all like Linda Hamilton, and the plots are just muck.

Hunlord/Yax are right, there is  talk of a new trilogy.

Just finished watching tonights episode.Sinisterministerx mentioned a connection between the TV series and Salvation and the interesting thing was that the character in tonights episode, John Fisher was an ex con with a life sentence.I've read somewhere that one of the lead characters in the movie was someone from Death Row, so is there a possible crossover?

Finally, I've enjoyed the series.Normally I get bored with stuff like this after a while and stop watching(Supernatural/Jericho)but this series has become quite interesting as it has unfolded.

A friend told me something similar. He said the first few episodes weren't all that great, but that it has gotten proggressively better.

I like the Terminator girl (Summer Glau?)== I really liked her in Firefly/Serenity, so I'll watch just about anything with her in it.

Oh, yeah, the actress that plays Sarah is hot!  Isn't she the one that played the queen in 300?  I liked what I saw there  :halo:

I kinda disagree.  Besides, they've got an Arnold lookalike to play in the flick, and Arnold's given them the rights to his image.

He was going to be in the film, but the film took a bit too long and he couldn't take a break from politics to film it... hence the look alike.

I never saw anyone in the trailer that look like him, also in the 3rd movie, Sarah Connor is dead, and they prevented Judgement Day...now she's alive and Judgement Day is on? It doesn't make any sense to me.

In the third movie, they attempted to prevent Judgement Day - but realised they could not. And so it happened.

All the third movie prevented was the death of John Connor.
