Dear Members,
those of you who have been with us for a while know that we have had a very big spam problem for years. So big in fact, that our moderators deleted hundreds of spam threads each day. This was not only a very tedious task, but also had a few negative side effects, such as legit threads being accidentally deleted occasionally.
We have found a way to work around this issue, but this means some restrictions for new members. Since about 99% of all spam consisted of threads posted by newly registered members, we have installed the following bans: No new threads may be opened until a member has 10 posts, and no PM may be sent until a member has 10 posts.
We realise this may cause some inconvenience for new members, but this is the only way to avoid the myriads of spam we have had every day for many years.
An occasional spam post may appear in threads, and we would be grateful if these were reported to the moderators.
