Solo Career

I think Dio's music is mostly better than Ozzy's, although I love them both. Dio has done better at maintaining a high level of quality across his career than Ozzy; I didn't really like the last couple Ozzy albums. Dio's last couple records weren't spectacular, but they were still good.

However, the best of Ozzy from the Randy albums easily matches the best of Dio. Songs like "I Don't Know", "Suicide Solution" or "Over The Mountain" are as good as anything Dio ever did - not better, but equally good. And I've always had a sentimental weakness for Ozzy's The Ultimate Sin album because that tour was my first concert (opening act: Metallica with [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Cliff [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--] on Puppets tour).

I haven't listened to much of Ozzy's solo stuff, but I hear it wasn't as good as what he did in his Sabbath days. A shame, too, because the first six albums were phenomenal.

As for Dio, excellent stuff. He's one of the most underrated singers in all of metal, and it's a shame that more people don't know about him. His Holy Diver album is awesome, and though he's had a few low points in his career...well, so has everyone.

So, I'd say they're two different styles and equally good.

Well, I have to say that while in black sabbath I think Dio's stuff is better than ozzy's Heaven and Hell is just spectacular, while in solo careers unfortunately haven't heard much of Dio's career but Ozzy's first two records with Randy are great

Dio but yeah Ossy is good to but now his voice is all fucked up

Equally good. Ozzy has been up and down and high and low, and has had huge publicity on the way, and Dio has been reasonably 'underground' but has maintained a consistant level of music in terms of quality.

If we're talking personal preference, Dio.
