Setlist In November?

metal1225

Trooper
Anyone have any ideas... i would like them to play 2 songs from the forthcoming album, and the rest songs that they've never played before, and in the next tour based on their new album - New songs and a few classics. Good idea, i think.

Making it difficult for you to figure out a wishful setlist? /tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

2 songs from the new album and only songs maiden havnt played before.....it would cause riots, the crowd were bad enough in the last tour when maiden wouldnt play FoTD

They should just play "The Angel and the Gambler". Repeatedly. The extra long 30 minute prog version. With Janick on drums and Bruce on bass. 'Arry dressed up as Eddie and Eddie doing guitars. H can be serving drinks to the guys and Dave will be doing keyboards /biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /]

What is this? Use your brain, since we can't very well guess at the setlist till we see the album, can we? If you only want to hear 2 new songs, why would you even bother to go? And songs they've never played before, well, if you take the time to check, you'll realize that it's a handful of songs, most of which aren't among the favourites. If you want to hear Alexander the Great, which I'm sure is the point here, Bruce has promised to play it next time in Greece - which will probably be in the next History tour.

Don't waste our time with pointless threads that we can't even concieve of an answer to yet.

At the risk of offending LooseMaverick, I'll attempt a serious answer.

Let's guess the setlist will have 18 songs, and 6 of those will be from the new album. That leaves 12 old songs.

Guaranteed to be played:
Iron Maiden
The Number Of The Beast
Hallowed Be Thy Name
The Trooper
Fear Of The Dark

That leaves 7 songs whose identity is less predictable. However, given the recent History tour, I anticipate the other songs will be post-PoM.

First, there will be one Blaze-era song that Maiden haven't played in a while.
I predict: Futureal.

There will be at least one song from BNW and 2 from DoD.
I predict: The Wicker Man, Rainmaker, Paschendale.

This leaves 3 from the rest of their career.
I predict: Wasted Years, Infinite Dreams, Bring Your Daughter.

Why Infinite Dreams?
Because (excepting the History tour) on all their recent tours they have played one song from SSoaSS.
BNW tour: The Evil That Men Do
GMETID: The Clairvoyant
DoD tour: Can I Play With Madness
Infinite Dreams is the obvious next song to be played, since it's the last remaining single from that album.

I further predict that after 2 or 3 shows, the band will decide that Infinite Dreams isn't working out and they will replace it with Wrathchild, causing all of us to cry as one: "Oh hell no, not again!"

Run to the hills has to be a dead cert as well, surely?

It wasn't on the BNW tour (EXCEPT Rock In Rio)...

Nice post SMX, apart from the getting-rid-of-Infinite-Dreams-part and please replace "The Wicker Man" with "Ghost of the Navigator" and I am happy! /smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]

To answer in this thread, I'd love them to play their new material. I'd also love them to play "Infinite Dreams", be it on this tour or the next. I'd just love that.

Don't they always have 'Sanctuary' and 'Two Minutes to Midnight' aswell? (Sorry if I'm wrong, I'm just basing my predictions on 'Rock in Rio', 'A Real Live/Dead One' and 'Live at Donnington' which all have both thise songs.)
They come and go, like food poisoning. Both weren't on the DOD tour, and Sanctuary wasn't on the Give Me Ed Till I'm Dead Tour.

Being in America, I guess there's a slim chance of me being close enough to a venue they'll be playing to even be able to go.....

.....should this be in the say something "nice" about your country thread? /biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /]

If the reports of the new album are correct, then I do not think they will play Infinite Dreams as this is a Very Prog song by Maiden's standards. I agree that there will be six or maybe 7 songs from the new album, But I have a feeling Hallowed be thy name will be dropped for this tour to make room for Paschendale, as Hallowed has been played on every tour, and will be played on the History Part 2 show (Due to LAD) to keep people guessing. RTTH and NOB will be played as will Obviously Iron Maiden. The Clansman and SOTC are other progressive songs, so I think the older material will be old stompers, such as Trooper, Evil that men do and Maybe Wasted Years. I agree about Futureal being Played again (But Man On The Edge is another fav crowd stomper) but they will not go for the overkill of too much prog sounding songs. Fear of the dark would be favoured to the Dance of death song, Bring your Daughter might be brought back as the sing along song instead of Running Free, And maybe a show of old tracks that did not get played on the early days tour, such as the Prisoner, 22 Acacia avenue or Killers.

I think if there's one song which will definitely not be dropped, it is Hallowed Be Thy Name. If they want to include Paschendale (which I sincerely hope they do!) then they won't accomodate it by dropping what must be Maiden's most loved live song.

I would prefer "Phantom of the Opera" to either of those two songs. I think it really worked well on the last tour. /cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"B)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" /]

If they are to play a Blaze song that hasn't been done live in a while then I'd prefer 'The Edge of Darkness' or 'Fortunes of War' to 'Futureal'.

I'd love to hear em play Out of the Silent Planet....

Something suprising off 7th Son and Somewhere in time.....Only the Good die Young and Sea of Maddnes..? :: /biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /]

forget about ID.
IM played it only on 1988 tour.
CIPWM, TETMD and TC are live classics for years (1988, 1990/91, 1992, 1993, 1995/96, 1998, 2000/01, 2003, 2003, 2005)
