In case anyone has somehow missed it, Download Festival, which would have featured none other than Iron Maiden as their Saturday night headliner this year at Donington Park, UK, is instead staging DOWNLOAD TV - a three day online programme of concert and festival footage - some never screened before, exclusive interviews and more, featuring bands who would have been playing at Download 2020 if a certain pandemic hadn't reared its ugly head.

The evening shows are on Youtube, from 7pm UK, 8pm in Europe (what, all of Europe?), 11am US Pacific time, 2pm US eastern time. Some time into the future in Japan and Australia, that timetravelling bunch. Download is advising viewers to subscribe to their Youtube channel as it's exclusive content.
Daytime programming (starts 12pm UK time Friday and Saturday, 11.30am Sunday) will be screened on Facebook, Twitch and Twitter. This includes an assortment of band content including some exclusive performances, band Q&As, plus festival extras like air guitar lessons, cocktail making tips, trivia, pub quizzes, Doom Yoga and Rockfit. No mud on the schedule, though, which to me means it just isn't the authentic Download experience

FRIDAY
There's a KISS makeup tutorial on Friday afternoon. Do not miss! Friday evening features: Lacuna Coil, PUP, Motionless In White, Steel Panther, Wargasm, WWE NXT Superstars (???), Biffy Clyro, Sleep Token, Airbourne, Wayward Sons, Fozzy, The Offspring, Black Veil Brides, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Deftones and KISS.

SATURDAY - in this order
Saturday evening artists : Alter Bridge, Funeral For A Friend, Loathe, Poppy, Creeper, Mastodon, Holding Absence, The Wildhearts, Bush, Killswitch Engage, Those Damn Crows, The Pretty Reckless, Gojira and Iron Maiden.
An exclusive performance from Amaranthe is part of the Saturday afternoon programme on social media.

SUNDAY
Sunday evening artists from 4.25pm to 9pm UK (curfew so the residents of Castle Donington don't get kept up on a school night?): Babymetal, The Darkness, Baroness, The Hara, Volbeat, Periphery, Bowling For Soup, Korn, Skillet, Wage War, Powerwolf, Disturbed, Alestorm and System Of A Down.

Download have revealed the following about Maiden's Saturday night slot:
"Maiden fans, we’ve got your Saturday night sorted – with over an hour of our evening programme dedicated to the band! We’ve got an interview with drummer Nicko McBrain and manager Rod Smallwood, where they chat about their favourite Donington moments, plus a ton of footage from various Download appearances. There’s even a track from their 2019 ‘Legacy Of The Beast’ tour in South America. Up the Irons!"
