Did someone just wake up and crap all over the constitution? This is the kind of crap which precipitated the Revolution.


5th Amendment: No person...shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Goddammit. Thomas Jefferson is spinning in his grave. WTF have these people done to the beautiful dream he and others fought so hard for?

Wow. Citing an article from the Fairfield County Weekly. I actually used to read that paper, back when I lived in Connecticut.

I have yet to meet a single person who thinks the SCOTUS was right about this eminent domain decision. Eminent domain has a place in the legal system, but it should be a last resort. This whole mess is way outside of any justifiable eminent domain.

If there's anything good about this, it is that there's been a lot of publicity about the recent developments in this case. I've seen this same information posted on several other sites. So maybe the city of New London will be shamed into treating these people decently.

And maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt.

Man, I can't believe they are actually putting that into effect. The article I transcribed onto the China U.S thread warned about this... spooky shit.
