DJ James

A coma stole my name.
I honestly could of chosen anything off their album Age of Plastic. Living in the Plastic Age was the first track off the The Buggle's debut album Age of Plastic. The Buggles were a short lived synthpop band formed in 1980. The Buggles had a total of two albums, (well three if you count when they merged with Yes.) they will always be considered a one hit wonder due to their big hit Video Killed the Radio Star. Now this song and the whole Age of Plastic album in general had a intense feel of nostalgia and it felt as though the Buggles were fearing the direction music had started to take. These guys eventually broke up in the mid eighties and had a reunion show not to long ago.

So what do you guys think of this song?

Egad. Not a tune i'd have expected to see in a metalfans forum James, but hey, whatever blows your hair back. I've always personally hated 80's synth pop. Always personally hated synth pop period. Sorry Dude... 1 out of 10 from me.

Would the next poster please take my place as first poster, thus relieving me of the responsibility of choosing the next random song...

So does this mean you make the next thread. :P

I'm listening now, I'll post later.

I got it, you like the song. Do you need to call it a masterpiece in the poll question too?

Now I remember why I did not like Buggles. Really not my cup of tea at all. 1.

Trevor Horn, by the way, had so much more to offer than just this.

Well, I do not dislike synth pop in general, so I do not mind at all something like this is posted. But this song doesn't do that much for me. I'd rather put on Alan Parsons, or something else.

I think it's a good idea to not stick to metal songs. And fair play to DJ for trying to really mix it up - but I just never liked Buggles.

As I said, Trevor Horn had much more to offer and a good example was the stuff he did with Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Yes, synth-pop and all that, but they had an edge to them that made them stand out.

Yeah Age of Plastic for me, had a dynamic and nostalgic feel to it. I can never get enough of this guy. Also Albie you should check out Drama by Yes. Trevor Horn does vocals and its amazing.

The song itself actually has some pretty interesting shifts, but I'm not a big fan of the sound.
I've heard worse.
And I'm glad to see an out-of-the-box selection.
