Pink Floyd Play first show together since Live 8

Thanks for the update! :)

According to Gilmour this was the last one. Good to see them making a tribute to Wright as well.

I wonder how special (and expensive ;) ) this will be:

Meanwhile, Pink Floyd have announced a major reissue project, with several boxed-set verisons of their classic albums set for release in the coming months. These will include rare, never before heard alternative versions of classic Pink Floyd songs. A new Greatests Hits collection is also scheduled.

I think Gilmour meant that it was the last in that string of shows. There was speculation of more shows together at 02. I imagine they will do more shows together at some point.

I don't think that had anything to do with it. I think Roger never regained interest in Pink Floyd.

I'm not saying Roger lost his interest because Rick passed away.

I said - even if he wants to play with them, it's not a reunion. There's no "reunion" or "together" for Floyd anymore...

Neither am I. I'm saying that he lost interest when he left the band in the 80's and never regained it.

That makes me wonder why he performed with them in Live 8 in the first place. He said he felt very comfortable and "enjoyed" playing with the classic line-up that one last time.

Maybe it was to bury the axe and end Pink Floyd on a good note. Which they did.

Well they barely wanted to do that show. A farewell tour might've ended really badly.

Yea, You're right...

They got very feud up... But don't even know what's the problem.

Floyd was surely on my list of want-to-see-live bands..  :(

They should just make a final farewell tour with, for example, 15 dates in Europe, 20 dates in South and North America, 5 dates in Asia, and retire the band for good. They don't have to visit every country, one date for all ex-Yugoslavian states would be enough, for example.

It's hard to imagine keeping the tension and anger between each other while sharing a stage.

Closest we'll ever come to Floyd live again is David's or Roger's solo carrier.

Same with me. I regret not going to the Wall when it came out here though.

Yeah, they came here too, but i somewhat didn't have the urge to go. Basically, i don't rank The Wall very high in their discography. Yes i know it's helluva show, and incredible experience, but i've seen footage of Waters' previous Wall tour and i didn't like the change of sound and occasional change of arrangement, and I especially didn't like some guests he invited, like the guy complete butchering vocals on Hey You.

The Wall got me into Floyd and when I first started listening I had thought about how cool it would be to see it performed live. But when it was announced I too didn't have the urge to go. Maybe it is because not all of Pink Floyd was there. I don't really know.

Same with me, I don't think he (Roger) will do it justice, the songs were very hit and miss (on the tour). And he's being really disrespectful to other members. It's like Steve departing to find some back-up band to perform Maiden songs ( :uhm:)
