Pilgrim edit request

I actually don't find the full version of The Angel and the Gambler to be that boring, it gets a little tedious in the last minute or so, but most of the parts, even with the repeating chorus, are not very boring. The first chorus section continues to change musically while the lyrics repeat, so it doesn't fully feel like repetition. And thus ends the digression of a Blaze era apologist (yes, I'm listening to Virtual XI right now, and yes, I'm on The Angel and the Gambler).

The full version of The Pilgrim isn't even close to being boring or tedious, in my opinion. It has an awesome chorus, definitely better than a lot of Maiden choruses. It belongs right up with the other songs on A Matter of Life and Death: a near-flawless masterpiece.

I would not ever propose actually cutting a Maiden song, but if I were to do it to one, it would be The Mercenary, to make "Show them no fear, show them no pain" repeat only twice each chorus instead of four times, but, as I said, I wouldn't actually do that. The most editing I'd ever take on is to fix the error on Powerslave remastered album, where the intro to the title song is on the end of Back in the Village.

I don't get why people find things like the Mercenary too repetitive, when there are far worse culprits.. at least it has a guitar melody between each one to break it up. I find the chorus of The Longest Day far more grating (which is a huge shame because outside of the chorus I think its one of their best work lyrically)

Yea I'm usually against cutting Maiden songs, but I tried it with Longest Day recently, and found it better than the original. So I suppose it can work if done right and the song needs a bit of a trim.
