Influenced by the_ancient_mariners glass chewing man topic.
My second topic about my thoughts, hopefully it will be received better than the last one (stereotyping).
Today im going to talk about the pleasure in other peoples pain I have been seeing lately. Now forgive me if im wrong, but when did looking at other people dying or being in severe pain become funny.
I have sat next to many of my friends who are looking at the disgusting pictures on rotten.com which include children whos hands have been sucked into garbage disposal machines, or men who have been decapitated by a helicopter. Now personally, I don’t find these funny. But for example, I have a friend who spends almost all his time on this site, just browsing through the death and pain pictures. The same goes for these funny/extreme video sites like killsometime.com, which has videos of people getting hit by cars, and in one case. A disaster in a foreign country where about 100 people fall through a dance floor at a wedding, many of whom died screaming, and I have seen people almost piss themselves at this.
On a lesser extent the same goes for shows such as you’ve been framed, In many cases I have seen videos of children fall over and hit their heads on concrete and start crying, meanwhile the entire studio audience is laughing….how does ‘that’ make sence
Now I do know, in some cases pain can end up being funny….I watched shows like dirty sanchez, and laughed. But I ask you…..When did peoples deaths become funny, and why do people revel in other peoples pain?
