As we all know, school/university shootings are becoming frighteningly common and my state of Arizona figures to do something about it. What exactly? Some moron in congress decided to create a proposition that would allow students and faculty to carry concealed weapons on campus. So now instead of having just one idiot running around with a gun, will have thousands!

But there must be standards!" you say. Yes, yes there are. $50 dollars for an 8 hour "safety course" and $60 dollars for the permit itself... yeah... that will definitely weed out the crazies.

In the U.S if you get a speeding ticket you can avoid having it on your record by taking a defensive driving class. In it they advice you not to piss people off on the freeway because (in arizona) 1 in 8 drivers carries a firearm... legally... and they are not afraid to use it if you cuss them out. Am I to feel safe by having a classmate have a gun (since it is concealed I won't even know exactly who or how many) and if they get an "F" on their paper they might want to "negotiate" an "A"? Or have some moron think he's Rambo or John Wayne because he took an 8 hour safety class make the situation worse instead of better trying to take care of the situation? Cops, SWAT teams and soldiers fuck up, what makes pimple-face Ted think he can do better?

Anyway I just needed to rant, people's stupidity really gets to me, specially when I'm tired

I'm beginning to see why Arizona's education ranks in the bottom two consistently.  Maybe if universities and public schools get more funding they would not need this $110 fee.  Onhell, it is time you move to another state.  Seriously, I feel bad for you.

EDIT: Oh wait!  This is proposed from a federal body.  I do NOT think it will pass.  There will be way more violence on campuses as a result of this proposed (tongue-in-cheek) security.

This is a really, really bad idea.  But like most Canadians, you may expect I am against the idea of concealed carry permits and stuff in general, anyway.  Armed security guards?  That's not a bad idea.  Or a dedicated, standards-trained police force?  Sure.  But guns for average joe?  Hell no.
