Newly revealed Derek Riggs artwork

Forostar

Ancient Mariner
The man himself showed an artwork on his Facebook:

It is called "Hollywood Eddie"...
... The picture is from the retrospective "Somewhere back in time" period, and it was an idea for a Maiden DVD cover, but Maiden were not interested in it and so it's been on my computer for a few years. I often meant to finish it off but I never really had a reason to.

I was looking for photos of movies cameras for the camera in Eddie's head. I came across the original camera that Charlie Chaplin used to make all his early movies on. It was up for sale by his estate, and they had photos of it. So I stuck it into Eddie's head. Please remember that this is a print of a sketch and not a finished painting.

I like that one. One of his more interesting sketches in recent years.

I like it. It has a very classic 80's vibe to it. it would have been perfect for the Somewhere Back in Time DVD.

I'm a little confused about the dating here. When is Riggs saying this sketch was done?
Sounds like it was done around 2007-2008, in preparation for the Live after Death retrospective. Or, it could have been a part of the original Maiden England rerelease DVD that was intended to be released in 2009.
