I havent seen a film in ages that I have thought was genuinely funny from start to finish. I liked Meet the Parents and Dodgeball of recent times but I think some of the old classics are much better for the giggles.

Films like Stir Crazy and The Cannonball Run had me in stitches in my younger days. Maybe I am just older, fatter and more cynical now??
 
Super Troopers.  Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  The Blues Brothers.

Cop: Those bums won their court case, so they're marchin' today.
Elwood: What bums?
Cop: The fuckin' Nazi Party.
Elwood: Great.  Illinois Nazis.
Jake: I hate Illinois Nazis!
 
I'm with Deano on that one!

hmm, I don't want to repeat so I'll say Rat Race. FUCKING HILARIOUS, just plain funny.
 
This discussion would be totally remiss if Pulp Fiction wasn't mentioned. Anybody not laughing throughout that whole movie needs their head checked. :lol:
 
The Jackass movies.  A guilty pleasure.  God help me. 

The pantheon:  Caddyshack, Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles.

"Duck Soup" by the Marx Brothers!

More recently, "Old School".

Somewhere in between, Monty Python's "The Meaning Of Life".
 
Duck Soup is extremely funny indeed.

For myself, all three Monty Python films, especially Life of Brian. I'd also mention a Swedish film few of you are likely to have seen, called Skenbart, released internationally as Illusive Tracks.
 
I agree that movies nowadays aren't nearly as funny as Marx Brothers films.  And Stir Crazy was GENIUS.

However, I love the hell out of Half Baked.  An excellent film!
 
Life of Brian is a must, but two movies that I find hilarious all the way through are Midnight Run and My Cousin Vinny. The films have the brilliant comic acting of Robert De Niro in the former and Joe Pesci in the latter, but their sidekicks (Charles Grodin and Marisa Tomei respectively) add so much weight. Both come highly recommended.
