Motörhead. They have been around for some time now. The first album was released in -75 I think..... Well here you can speak your mind about this band.

I really like Motorhead's music, especially the slower songs. I only have one of their "Best Of" albums, the one with Lemmy by himself on the front. My favourite songs would be Orgasmatron and Chase is better than the catch.

I was thinking about buying a load of their albums but I was put off by their same-ness. It's hard to tell some songs apart from others. Apart from that, the guys are all rock-legends and have inspired loads of bands, including Metallica.

Yes they are very good indeed, and just as you said their music sounds the same. But don't you just love Ace of spades?

But the trio arrangement.....I liked the set with Wursel....it should be a twin guitar.

Well the Aces of Spades is a classic, it is overplayed and not their best song. It has almost become infamous with beerbelly bikers and synomonous with rebellion. I think it gets too mush praise with the rest of Motorhead's songs not getting any praise at all.

Well i think it's the best alongside with bomber and we are the road crue

Well I do agree that Ace Of Spades is overplayed to oblivion, it is a brilliant as a whole album. And as for attacking their lack of variety, have you heard the title track on their 1916 album? Damn, it's beautiful. [!--emo&:(--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I have always thought that if Motorhead had never played that one song, Aces of Spades, they would never had made it as big. They have plenty of songs that are much better than AOS that never get recognition outside of rock/metal circles. I suppose the Aces of Spades is to Motorhead as Run to the Hills is to Iron Maiden. i think without that song, Maiden wouldn't have half the fans they have today, even though most of their fans think it's played out [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Conor, u should reaaly go for 1916, an extaordinary and untypical Motörhead album. Filled with tempo varaitions if that's what u're after. they still played a couple songs from this one on their recent british tour which I was lucky enough to check on two occasions (London&Cambridge)
I was also more than lucky to talk to Lemmy. 45 minutes itw for my mag here in Paris, real cool killer he is. a gentleman by his own trade and a great storyteller if u know how to take the man. Whoaaaw, I've just met a legend. Blessed be!

Well there must be about 500 people with the same claim to fame [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Hey, we all want a stab at it right? "Adrian Smith looked at me". There, I'm the most fantastic person in the world now because of that. [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

The Holy Inquisition is a bit late trying to stop my blaspheming. What took you guys so long? [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/mad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'mad.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Okay back on topic. Funny how the band was originally called Bastard, then changed their name to Motorhead. And of course, one of their albums is called Bastards. Funny how it all ties in.

Why is it that a lot of great bands (Motorhead included) are from the UK?, Some treat with the Devil, perhaps? [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I read somewheer that the name "Bastards" for the band came from Lemmy's anger and frustration at not being able to land a record deal after being in Hawkwind. Changing your name to a profanity is not the way to go:P

Maybe the album is called "bastards" to reminisce on times like those when the band was starting or maybe they were pissed off at the music industry at the time aswell.

I loved Sacrifice, and pretty much anything after 93. Not that their old stuff is bad, I just prefer speed metal songs like Burner and Civil War to Ace of Spades and Iron Fist.
