Misprint?

Genghis Khan

Ancient Mariner
I was just looking at the 'Death on the Road' commentary and noticed that 'Brave New World' is credited to Smith/Dickinson/Harris instead of Murray/Harris/Dickinson as it is labeled inside the booklet of 'Brave New World' CD.

Does anyone have an explanation for this?

The sleeve notes on the Death on the Road CD credit Smith/Dickinson/Harris for writing Brave New World. The Death on the Road DVD and the Brave New World CD credit Murray/Dickinson/Harris. This may be the reason for the misprint.

You think so?  Check the lyrics for Holy Smoke in the NPFTD album  :innocent:
I would say that not given the proper credit for writing a song is worse than the sleeve notes adding lyrics of a different song. ;)

Who can forget that wonderful song, 'The Apparition/Gers'?  Or the way that the spines of Seventh Son and No Prayer For The Dying are printed (try arranging the remasters in chronological order, and you'll see :D)

But none this painful, I'd say.

No? Check the back of the DVD sleeve and answer me the question if "Westfalenhalle" is properly spelled "Westenfalenhalle" or "Westfallenhalle".  :innocent:

Just checked mine there out of curiousity and its spelled Westfallenhalle, I was blissfully unaware of this scew up until I read it here a while back. ;)

The only thing left for me to say is: Poor Dave.  What an insult.

:yey: Go Dave go!  :yey:
That was one of the best songs from 'Brave New World' and one of the best from the whole Iron Maiden discography.

Yes! I thought I just had screwed-up versions or something, or that I was just incapable.  ::)
Glad to know it was Maiden (or whoever prints these things) that messed up and not me. At least Eddie appears properly on one side.

What is exactly is wrong with the spines?  I don't recall anything out of place.  (I can't check right now as one of the two CDs is over at my girlfriend's place).

I'll tell you what has happened to mine, the last album (Live at Donington) has the spine pic way out. To correct it you would have to rotate it vertical and then horizontal. Been a bit of a stickler for neatness, I did not like this, so I scanned and then reprinted the spine myself.

However, you could get lucky and have them all fit perfectly as I have seen a Donington CD in my local shop that has the spine pictured correctly. At first I was tempted to buy it, swap the CD's over and return the newly purchased CD's and the old case to the shop and ask to swap it for a different CD kidding on that this is a double purchase, but thought better of it. ;)

The spine on the other side of these CD's is just not even remotely correct.

To be specific, on Seventh Son and No Prayer the face of Eddie is upside-down while everything else (cover and back-side) faces the right way. No way around that, unfortunately. :(

It's quite a sticker, considering that I like having my albums chronologically.  Still, it just means that I have to go backwards from Live at Donnington to Iron Maiden, but with the covers facing to the right (which is what I usually do).  Yes, I like organising my music collection...I'm a bit of a freak in that record (especially mp3 tags...I can't stand them being wrong, which is why I don't like downloading music, in that regard).

Oh, now I know what you mean.  I tried rearranging the CDs the right way once I had them all and wondered why it made no sense.  Once I realized it goes the opposite way, I learned to live with it in like 2 seconds.  So the order is upside-down or reversed.  No biggie.  At least Eddie can be seen whichever way.  :D

No, you don't quite get it.  If you arrange the albums going LAD->IM left to right with the front covers facing right, you will make Eddie.  If you arrange the albums going IM->LAD left to right, with the front covers facing left, you will make Eddie, except for the Seventh Son and No Prayer spines, which are upside down.

Oh!  I'll have to try that soon.  I'll mark it on my calendar for this weekend  :D.  (I'm really serious).  What you described sounds weird.
