From a facebook update:

"To help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Download Festival, the dudes who run it asked us how we felt about playing 'The Black Album' in its entirety and we thought "hold on, that could be really cool since it is technically the tail-end of the 20th anniversary of the release (August '91)." So come hang with us for the 2012 version of our European Summer Vacation featuring 'The Black Album,' with this exclusive stop in the UK on June 9."

Should be pretty cool, it is a classic album.

Saw it few minutes ago. Cool.
Though I'd prefer hearing whole Ride The Lightning or Death Magnetic.

There really isn't any Metallica album I'd like to see played in it's entirety. Hell, I don't even care for seeing them in concert. But I imagine I would enjoy seeing And Justice the most.

They're the only band announced for Download as its 7 months away, and we already know half their setlist... well, I doubt I'll be going to the festival at all, maybe if there is a really good lineup one day - but whatever happens I wouldn't be staying for Metallica anymore.

That is, if I'm even around to see it.

I put the Black Album on a few months ago for the first time in years and was surprised by how boring/ploding it sounds (they give the songs more punch live), I actually prefer the Load/Re-Load albums at this point, at least they have some variation.  I had a hard time getting though the Black album.

We've heard most songs off Kill'em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets live and often too. (not talking about actually being at a concert and experiencing the performance live) But not ...And Justice for All. We know that Metallica don't really like that album but as a progressive rock/metal fan, I like it so much because it's by far the most progressive album Metallica has ever made. They never played The Frayed Ends of Sanity and To Live is to Die live and played Eye of the Beholder (haven't played live since 1989), Dyers Eve and The Shortest Straw rarely. Note that I'm a big Frayed Ends of Sanity fan and to me it's the third best off the album. (after Blackened which is my favorite Metallica song and One) I'd love to hear Justice in its entirety, it would be a hard time for Lars, though.

...AJFA is the best Metallica album and I'd like to hear it live. I don't like the so-called Black Album much though. It's overrated.
