"Droogies!

Well, all of the artwork is starting to come together for the remixes and the new record. And let me tell you, this is f**king exciting. I am going over the last little things that will make the records the very best that I could make them.

Of course there are going to be things like 'digital artifacts' as Ralph called them, which are bits of noise that could not be gotten rid of, no matter how hard we tried. But hell, I know we did what we could.

Yesterday all of the team started to ‘one by one’ come over to my home studio and I was starting to think something was going on, but once the last guy showed up, it was really weird. I thought I was going to have an intervention or something like what my ‘friends’ used to try in the '80s.

Then all of a sudden I noticed a rather large plaque that they had made up that was dedicated to me, calling me the 'General,' which I said was my favorite nickname, and all of their nicknames from the session and their ranks that we humorously handed out.

This all started because we have a real Sergeant from our proud Marine Corps working for me, and the first time he made a mistake (we all did) I said he was demoted back to Corporal. Evidently this was not as funny to him as it was to me, because of how important rank is. So we started jabbering in military talk, since the project really was a military objective.

The award is now back in my room where I can see it each morning before I start, if I am feeling down, so that I know I made a small difference in their lives.

Anyway, it is cool to be hearing the mixes back now after a few days off, and as good as they were, Lance and I are still able to clean up some of these digital artifacts that may have slipped by. I’m actually talking about the next couple of projects for me, that are non-Megadeth related. And everyone is pumped up for the task.

Lastly, I met some cool Droogs while out in LA, and I hope that y’all will meet me someday soon, so that we can put faces to names and talk about what makes it cool to be part of this big ole family. I will give you an update soon on how the Make-a-wish charity went with the chopper, the guitar signing, and chat next weekend.
