Frankie DiVita, radio personality for 96.7 KCAL Rocks, conducted an interview with IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain at the 2012 NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show, a massive music-products convention which took place January 19-22 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. You can now watch the chat below.

When asked about what is going on with IRON MAIDEN at the moment, Nicko replied, "Well, we're taking some time off. And we're gonna go back out on tour sometime this year. We're not sure yet when. It's in the words of a very famous British singer from the Second World War called Vera Lynn. And she had a song and it went something like, 'We'll meet again. Don't know where. Don't know when.' So that's in the line of Vera Lynn. We're doing a Vera Lynn. We don't know where, we don't know when. . . [But] IRON MAIDEN is touring sometime this year, yeah. I don't think [it will be a world tour this time]. Next year, maybe. But this year, it's just gonna be a little tour — short run."

Quite interesting for sure! Hmmmmmm, if they do come to N.A., I bet they'll probably just hit a couple of locations like in 2010.
 
Probably, they'll go to Japan to compensate the cancellation of that leg of the Final Frontier tour; also, Roberto Medina said to have Maiden almost confirmed for Rock In Rio 2013, which will be in January, if I remember well.
 
So if this tour comes to fruition. Obviously Japan are still due their Final Frontier gig. But RiR 2013 would this be the greatest hits tour we have heard mentioned?
 
Japan makes a lot of sense. Actually, jeffmetal, Rock in Rio will be on the last weekend of September.
 
Hopefully there will be some US dates, beyond the two Florida shows, we have not gotten to see any of TFF live except for El Dorado
 
Just throwing this out for fun and speculation: since it will be a short tour and Adrian does have a side project coming out, any chance they'd let Primal Rock Rebellion open for them? It would be double duty for H, but if it's only a handful of dates, he should be able to pull that off. They let Lauren Harris open for Maiden, so why not PRR?
 
Love the idea of course but it's very demanding. I remember Adrian saying in some interview that he did that with Psycho Motel, opening for Bruce and he found that pretty hard (I even think he said he'd never do that again).
