According to my own nonsensical rules and values it’s BNW
You mean nonsensical because BNW is given a second chance? I know, we could have carried on right with SSOASS vs. AMOLAD, but since we did the "second chance"-thing in the first two rounds I thought why not in round #3 as well. My prediction is BNW will be out by this one here anyway, so we'll go for SSOASS vs. AMOLAD tomorrow. Which will be a very interesting one IMHO. One of the most interesting comparisons of all yet.

Everything I said about Seventh Son vs. Brave New World applies to Powerslave vs. Brave New World. Seventh Son and Powerslave are both excellent albums representing the pinnacle of Maiden’s output, while Brave New World is an uneven but good album that seems to have a lot of sentimental value to people for kicking off the reunion era.

Well said Jer. The sentiment for BNW is strong. It represents a happy time in my my maiden journey. Damn that album and everything surrounding it? Good times!
But powerslave… I mean , come on now. It’s simply the. Superior album.

I have BNW as a top 3 album but I find my convictions turning to jelly when I consistently place it above albums like Powerslave and Seventh Son. But I can’t deny the effect BNW had on my young brain. It was an exciting time

Sounding like a broken record, but Brave New World's ma fave, so that gets ma vote.

Brave New World... seems to have a lot of sentimental value to people for kicking off the reunion era.

Speaking just for myself that wasn't the case. When I was first getting into Maiden and listened to Brave New World I didn't know Maiden had had a reunion, or that the eighties were considered their "Golden" period or anything like that. I just took it for what it is: an incredible album. Other albums have moved up and down as I've become more familiar with them (actually, Powerslave was once neck-and-neck with BNW) but Brave New World's managed to stay put in all that time.

Wait a minute...

Powerslave-Header-2.jpg
Into the Abyss I'll fall, the Eye of Horus
Into the eyes of the night, watching me go
Green is the cat's eye that glows
In this Temple
Enter the risen Osiris, risen again

Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a god
Why can't I live on?
When the Life Giver dies
All around is laid waste
And in my last hour
I'm a slave to the Power of Death
