My two favourites, but Brave New World reigns supreme. It's everything I love most in Maiden: the ferocious energy of the eighties with the progressive elements of the 21st century, and it's the best line-up with everyone playing at their peak.

Once again, the choice is really tough (as steel). But, I vote for 'Brave New World', even if I adore 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son'. The reason is that 'Brave New World' opened a new chapter for Iron Maiden. Contrary to 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son', which was a problematic record for Adrian Smith who wanted it more melodic and less heavy. It was the beginning of the end of the golden years for the band, the exit album for Adrian, despite his nice contribution on this 7th Maiden's masterpiece. All is almost perfect on this record (the melodies, the harmonies, the riffs, the rythms, the atmospheres) but I feel some weariness sometimes coming from the band, and this is more obvious on 'Maiden England'. And in 1989, you all know what happened to the band : its main composer besides Steve Harris left the boat... That's why I've chosen 'Brave New World' : it's a very energic record, with a lot of joyful melodies and you feel that the musicians are really happy to play together again. :)

I thought that Adrian was happy with 7th son, and that it wasn't until writing began on NPFTD that he became unhappy with its back to basic musicality, as he wanted to continue in a more progressive direction.

This. Adrian felt 7th Son was the direction the band should be taking and it wasn’t until No Prayer that his doubts kicked in.

The only negative comment I recall Adrian making was regarding the speed of the live shows around that time.

Get this Seventh Shit off my screen. It’s a good album, but it’s overrated and does not come together like a record should. BNW meanwhile is one of the pinnacles of the Iron Maiden discography. Like Edington said, it’s everything I love about Maiden.

What's wrong with the Golden Years? :scared:
There's nothing wrong, just my musical taste is different I guess. IMO the golden years started with Brave New World, and the albums they have released since then are much better compared to the 80s/90s. I mostly like the long epics with beautiful guitar/vocal melodies and the prog sound or whatever it is called+3 amigos each bringing another flavor to the music. Of course there are some songs that I like very much from the 80s as well, but the only song that could make it to my top 15 would be Children of the Damned, and the rest would all be from the last 6 albums.

Edit: I forgot Fear of the Dark from the 90s, the special song that introduced Maiden to me. Definetely in my top 15.
