OK... I am obsessed with iron maiden to put it simple. I find myself listening to them, and them only. Metallica is the next closest thing I can listen to. When I listen to and watch Iron Maiden I just can't stop. I can't find another metal band nearly as satisfying. I am obsessed. Iron maiden has changed my life. I am now completly inspired to become one of the greatest bassists of my generation. I only recently discovered them too [!--emo&:(--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--] so I have been unable to see them live yet. How has Iron Maiden changed your life?

After I started getting into Maiden, I stopped listening to the shit I was listening before and got into other good music. I was probably a little obsessed at first too but now I listen to a lot of other bands besides them.

it has definately changed my life. its the only music i ever listen to (apart from some black metal if im at my friend's)! I seem to be spending all the money i get on maiden things. I dont know where id be without them really. bored and sad.
still thinking on which maiden song i want at my funeral......

Maiden were one of the first bands I got into when I started listening to Metal, and I still hold them in high regard to this day. However, they're not my favourite band, nor have they changed my life in any way.

Maiden will always mean something to me. Most of the bands I got into when I was younger were already established...Zeppelin, Rush and so on. But Maiden were the first band I saw right from the start (not at The Ruskin Arms, mind you, but a few times at The Marquee) This was about the time when they released the "soundhouse tapes". I can't believe that "Dance of Death" is as good as it is!! How many good songs do these guys have in them. Listening to "Paschendale" on my walkman on the way to work and I'm gone!!

Maiden is my favourite band, yeah. And I guess it's inspired me to get away from the pop-orientated MTV culture. Lots of new music has been opened up to me. But it's changed my life most by letting me find a few good mates on a certain forum I post on.

The Maiden BB, if you wonder [!--emo&;)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I would like to think of myself as a Maiden Nutcase. maybe not as much as some people, but I am sure I am one and Maiden has changed my life. It was the first band (Including Sabbath) that I actually brought CDs for. Funnily enough I first heard Maiden from a skateboarding video called 'Misled Youth' , it was prowler that was on the vid. Same with NIB by sabbath, so I suppose that is where the souce of my metal orientated life originated from. If it wasn't for that video, I would not be into metal, and I don't think I'd be skateboarding today if it wasn't for maiden and sabbath. Out of the two though I think Maiden have struck me the most.

Myself Ive been listening to Maiden prettty much weekly for 21 years, and they were the first and will always be favourites, but there´s so much other stuff out there that´s good. If anything, I find Maiden more genius just by listening to other stuff - it´s easier to appreciate

Maiden is absolutly great & i love them very much. But it doesn't changed my life, it inspires me and let me drift away and make me happy, but it doesn't changed my life. I am the only one who can change my life, but the music of Iron maiden followed me in my life in bad & good personal situations.

That was probably what I wanted to answer...

To change a life....
hm, that's really something you can do by your own.
But maybe listening to Maiden is like being in a fellowship for me, that points it better...

@LooseCannon: Your answer is also very good! I've also found some mates on the web and in "real life" [!--emo&:howdy:--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/wavey.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wavey.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Great point, Maidenaustria! Change of a person can only come from within! If Maiden inspired you to change, that's great. But remember, for better or for worse, every change a person makes comes from themselves.

Well, I wouldn't called the s*it you've heard before Nu Metal.
It isn't even close to be called METAL.
It is just a bad pop music played all day at mtv, s*it channel.
Anyway, I'm here to talk about Maiden and that's hwta Im gonna do.

To tell you the truth, I've became really really addicted and obssesed with Maiden the last 3-4 months. I just can't stop listening to any of their albums, I can't stop downloading all the bootlegs available, and can't stop getting in any forum to talk about Maiden in any 'kin language.
Iron Maiden is the metal band that really changed me, and revealed to me what is called: Heavy Metal (or just metal).
They're really the greatest band ever.

These last weeks I decided to listen to the bands I was listening a lot before I became obssesed with Maiden, and it's a great fun, 'cause you listen to a lot of great bands that play any type of metal.

In conclusion:
IMO you can be obssesed and addicted with your favorite band, but the thing that happened to me is that after a period of time, you just figure out that you can not just focus on one band, though they are great, you also have to listen to other great bands.

Thanks

I used to think I was the same age as the guys in the band but I realise now that they're a bit older than me.
TRIVIA TIME : I was eleven when Red Rum won his first Grand National !!!
If you live in England, you'll get it but if you're from lichtenstein or somewhere, you wont have a sccoby what I'm on about... oh! and "scooby" won't mean anything either !!!

well,as this is a maiden forum I think most of us are maiden obsessed
I first got maiden around 4 years ago (i`m really shure it was wickerman or run to the hills) and since then it´s been my favourite band and this has made me get all the albums and plenty of boots n singles, I can´t find any band who is near to maiden in quality...
it´s a pity i wasn´t born 20 years ago!!!!!!!

Cool down mate - you share your fate with thousands of other younger fans who worry about the same - like me [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
