Maiden England 88 vs Maiden England Current Tour

I actually didn't notice the stage differences until I started seeing pictures of the stage after I saw them live. It's easy to notice stuff like that in pictures, but when you're actually there experiencing the show, all that stuff doesn't matter. At least not to me.

I think the basic stage set has been the same since either the Dance of Death or Early Days tour. It should be noted that there are a few more changes than just the sheets, like sandbags and flak lights in the AMOLAD tour, or Anubis statues and backlit hieroglyphs during Somewhere Back in Time, but those are just gimmicks.

I really hope they change the stage to a bigger stage or at least with ramps

I have to say that I have loved the stage set for Maiden England 2013. It looks nicer with less icebergs (those were really Spinal tap! ) and the light show was amazing. Sure, they are using the same structure since 2003, but to me it works really well.

We all have our little preferences about the setlist (I would certainly have chosen some different songs), but as a metal gig goes it is difficult to imagine something much better than what they are playing on this tour.

I agree with you that sometimes less is more, but, (I don't know if you were lucky enough to have seen the original stage) it was a thing if beauty. The details were insane! Just the little things are missed. The fact that
the prophet was hidden behind the middle iceberg peak and then spun around for the big reveal was epic !
I also agree with you about the lighting. After the show in Houston, I walked up to the guys at the lighting/soundboard and congratulated them on the terrific light show and got them to autograph my poster! Lol ! I have no real issues with the set list because the songs most people are upset by them not playing, I am pleased with the ones they ARE playing!
My only real beef with this tour is that they use sheets for the walls of the stage as opposed to making it look more robust! It just adds to the already incredible atmosphere to their shows!
