Maiden confirmed for download '07 - 10/06/07

Depends if Megadeth go as well......they have an album out in march, and with rumours of Van Halen reforming it will be like Donnington 1988, of course Maiden record breaking the venue.... cant wait to go

Will they perform the songs from powerslave to seventh son  with LAD stage?becuase Bruce says that they will play new record with a bunch of classics?!!. two albums in two years?? Strange......

I'm guessing it'll be a mix of AMOLAD and the classics, but with a much heavier bias towards classics this time round.

I reckon we'll get Different word, These colours don't run, The longest day, Benjamin Breeg and maybe another, with the rest as classics.

i heard the interview on planet rock last night....(where it was first announced)

basically..its gona be a greatest hits set from Iron Maiden through to A Matter Of Life and Death. He said they were not going to focus on the 80s like some predicted

thats the impression i got...but he did say they'd maybe play 3 or 4 songs off the new album.

in 2008 they are gona do the early days part 2 tour with the powerslave set and stuff...

Just looking at the download forums, it seems thousands of people are pissed off about Linkin Park and MCR headlining, most people dont think they are headlining material and from what is on the site most people hate them. (personally Megadeth would be one of my choices)

That aside i couldn't find one comment from the forum that was complaining about maiden playing, not one person said they didn't want to see them or said anything bad about them at all, most people (even if not great fans) said maiden were a brilliant choice and how great they are live.

Just thought it was interesting to see even people who aren't great fans giving them support.

yeah, man.  ive been following that.  i doubt that van halen will pull it off this year, possibly some studio time next year, and a tour in 2009.  maiden is my favorite band, but my primary forum site is classicvanhalen.com with ed in and outta rehab, a 15 year old on bass, and a washed up paramedic singing, i dont see it happening soon.

It appears that there may be at least a few of you here that are just planning on going on Sunday to see Maiden. That is my plan as well.

I am from Toronto, Canada and coincidentally will be in London when the festival takes place. I will be staying by Kensington High Street. Is there anybody that could possibly offer at least a ride back, and possibly a ride both directions?  I find that I can get there by train or coach on Sunday afternoon, but there are no trains or buses after the show until around 3:30 in the morning. I need to return to London as soon as possible after the show. I will be happy to share the cost of gas.

Please respond here or drop me a line if you can offer a ride. Thanks
