Kiske returns to Metal

Yax

Ancient Mariner
Kiske is back with a new band callled Unisonic - And he's about to play live for the first time in 19 years.
He explains his recent outlashes against Metal with that "people tried to push him in that direction so he reacted by getting angry and distancing himself from it".
Kiske will also appear on the upcoming Gamma Ray album.

I like it that Kiske works with Hansen again. I only hope the music will be more original than the copied stuff of previous releases.

He's a complicated guy, isn't it ? like metal, don't like metal, like metal...

One of the best voices in the 1980's, for sure.

I'm yet to listen to it, in the mean time most of the stuff I've heard is what he's done with Avantasia. He's still got it.

Thanks!

I see something pretty cool. Maybe Onhell knows him:
The guy in the background with the guitar and long hair -> That's Sander Gommans, ex-member of After Forever. He was one of the main songwriters, and the grunter in that band. After Forever broke up, a while back, and now he has found something new. That's really nice for him. He always was the guy who was into classic hardrock and metal so this suits excellent. Amanda Somerville has assisted After Forever (and Epica) on all their records, helping with lyrics and vocal coaching, and did the same for many other bands who were produced by Sascha Paeth. She also deserves something bigger.

THIS IS AWESOME!!! Kiske is definitely  back and the duet with Amanda is perfect. Setting the video in an opera house is a bit predictable, but hey, it works lol.

Amanda has great exposure in the symphonic metal scene. Not only from work with Epica, Kamelot and Avantasia, but has her own "super group," Aina... or something like that. She's released a few solo records, but her collaborations with Metal acts are her standouts. I love her work.

Kiske/Somerville is a great album/project. I wish it was more metal, but it's good anyway. Production is great and I particularly like the drum sound on the album. The whole album sound really fresh and all the songs are really catchy. I'm always happy when Kiske releases new music.
