This fall EMI Capitol Records will be releasing the DVD, A New Day Yesterday (Jethro Tull's 25th Anniversary Collection, 1969-1994). Originally released as a video in 1994 in conjunction with the band's 25th anniversary, EMI Capitol is combining the original video with bonus material from a live performance on French TV.
The first part of the video covers the celebration of Jethro Tull's 25th anniversary party, including interviews with former members and collaborators, accompanied by much drinking and merriment, with Ian Anderson at one point acknowledging his appreciation for those consistent Tull supporters.
In between this we are treated to a flow of TV footage through the 25 years including their 1970 performance of "Nothing Is Easy" at the Isle of Wight Festival, "The Witch's Promise" on the Top Of The Pops in 1970 and a grand performance of Thick As A Brick in Madison Square Gardens, New York, 1978.
Following the interviews and performance excerpts, we are then able to view some of their full length performances and promo videos, including a 1970 performance of "Teacher."
