A new footage, said to be from The Legacy Of The Beast tour, has surfaced showing Janick and Nicko getting into an argument which immediately escalated into physical assaults from both sides.
In a recent interview with Janick, where he was asked about the fued, he said that during the show (from where the footage is from), while performing Phantom Of The Opera, Nicko felt that there is a minor mistake in playing the main riff to which he prompted Janick. Janick avoided it during the performance but later confronted Nicko about it which though started as a small banter, quickly took the wrong turn.
To quote Janick, "I asked him what's the matter?" to which he (Nicko) said, "You messed up the damn riff! How could you? And this isn't your first time!". Janick continues, "I was pissed! How could he talk to me like that and he wasn't even a part of the band when that song was recorded!"
Later in a press briefing, Nicko cleared that Janick was not a part of the band either when the song (Phantom Of The Opera) was recorded and revealed his confrontation with Janick being the real reason behind him leaving the band for live performances.
In a recent post on X, Steve Harris cleared by stating, "Every band has a don. In this band, I'm that don!"
