Is Speed of Light eligible for the UK singles chart?

I'm not sure how the singles charts work these days, but I think digital downloads count and also on line streaming might even contribute to chart position as well.

So does anyone know if Speed of Light is eligible given that there is no physical release, and also what way online streaming counts for the chart position?

Sadly the uk charts include audio streaming but not visual - so if you listen to something on spotify or buy a download from itunes etc then it counts. If, like me, youve been watching on youtube over and over again it makes bugger all difference!

I think it counts if you pay 99p to download it, but if you get it for free (which I think might be the case for those who pre-ordered the album) then I dont think it would count.

Cant really see what the benefits are of downloading it rather than ripping from youtube - maybe the quality might be slightly better but we'll all have a proper copy in a few weeks time anyway. Not like theres any b-sides or bonus tracks to listen to?

Back in the day I wouldve bought 7", 12", cassette single, and however many CD versions they were flogging! Much harder to be a completist in the digital age!

it's not on the midweek charts so there's obviously not a lot of people paying for a download when there's a free stream on the maiden website

sanctuary, twilight zone and women in uniform are in the physical and vinyl charts though!

That's because they're physically released vinyls. I held them in my hands just the other day.

I'm a collector so always enjoyed getting the various formats of Maiden's single releases...

I know they were selling it in the US on Bestbuy but sadly not in the UK.

I got one on ebay. Best Buy were selling them online for store pick up only.

Yeah, I checked eBay earlier and there are quite a few auctions for SOL CD running..
I will wait until the dust settles and then check again....
