I have heard numorous rumors of a Canadain tour again for Maiden, only just last visited a year ago, Maiden is set out for Canada yet again once more. Supporting a little bit of death on the road, it is more of a number of the beast, peice of mind, powerslave and 7th son's songs mostly on the tab. nothing above 1988 will be on the track list for this tour. Awwwww wich means no 'Man on the Edge'......

You are aware that Maiden is releasing a new album, right?

Im pretty sure that they'll be playing some of the new material off the album.

This is supposed to be a classic tour, of course they will support their upcoming record but this time they want to get at the fans that listned to Paul Dianno live over 20 years ago.

I don't think we can even guess at the setlist till we see the new album, but I expect to see at least one more song from the "Blaze era", as well as a combination of the usual suspects and a few shockers.

shockers? pfft, no such thing on a Maiden setlist, unless they play too many songs from one particular album

I've figured out Tailgunner's philosophy of life: open mouth, insert foot.

You have yet to provide any sort of source for your untenable claim.

Furthermore, the Di'Anno years were well covered by last summer's tour. I expect see very little Di'Anno material from the band on any tour henceforth. Sure, "Iron Maiden" will always be there, but I expect to see little else from the first 2 albums.

Most importantly, Maiden themselves have said nothing about what the setlist will contain. Unless you can cite a reliable source, there's no reason to believe what you say.

I think it's pretty likely that there will be one song from the Blaze era on the setlist, like on the DoD tour, and it probably won't be 'Lord of the Flies' like last time, which means it could very well be 'Man on the Edge'. Or perhaps they'll suprise us with a longer song, either 'Sign of the Cross' or 'The Clansman'.

I'm with Loosey here. There will certainly be one or two surprises on the next setlist, as with "Can I Play With Madness" on the DOD tour. I think it is likely that the band will include one or two "rare" songs from the Early Days setlist that they thought worked well. Maybe we will hear Running Free or POTO again, who knows? As for the Blaze song, this is my very own personal interpretation, but on the BNW and DOD tours, it seems to me like the band chose something that fits the new material. On the BNW tour, they played two epic songs which comforted with the epic material on the then-recent album. On the DOD tour, I personally believe they chose "Lord Of The Flies" because it could well have been on the album. I stated before that "Gates Of Tomorrow" really does sound like a poor rehash, and maybe the band swapped the songs for the tour because they felt LOTF simply is a better song.

I could be completely mistaken too.

Tailgunner, I believe you got three tours mixed up here. The band have announced a support tour for their next album, which means and always has meant that there are no restrictions on the setlist whatsoever. There will be a tour with material no younger than 1988 as well, but if this will happen this year or next year remains to be seen. I used to think the next "history" DVD and tour would be this summer, but considering that in this case, the DVD should already have been released or at least announced, it seems unlikely. So it will probably be next summer.

It bewilders me how you got this idea. I think you totally mixed this up with last summer's Early Days tour.
