Some really intriguing matchups this time:
Will the prog-loving tendencies of this forum push Seventh Son past Aces High?
To Tame A Land vs Alexander — a couple similar epics that get top 10 ranking from some people.
The pairing of two very different TFF tracks, each of which had some people gushing two years ago.
Legacy versus the Duellists — each a dark horse for a lot of people (both of them for me)
And the rematch of Survivor's biggest upset — Hallowed vs CSIT

The Duellist
Coming Home
Prowler
22 Acacia Avenue
The Clairvoyant
Killers
Alexander The Great
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
Hallowed Be Thy Name

I made a mistake... I entered all my poll choices aside from TTAL vs Alexander, and hit "Post Reply" without realising I hadn't entered my poll choice for that match-up, and now it won't let me enter a poll choice for it... ah well, saves me the hard decision of choosing between them then I guess... lol The rest of my choices for this round were:

The Duellists
The Talisman
The Longest Day
Where Eagles Dare
The Clairvoyant
Killers
7th Son Of A 7th Son
Caught Somewhere In Time

The last two choices were difficult for me to make...

Sara, if you want to register your missing vote as a post, I'll use it as a tiebreaker if needed.

  1. The Duellists
  2. Coming Home
  3. Prowler
  4. 22 Acacia Avenue
  5. The Clairvoyant
  6. Killers
  7. Alexander the Great
  8. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
  9. Caught Somewhere In Time
@Sara, as far as I've experienced on this forum: posting (replying) has nothing to do with voting. Did you try to vote again?

Oh okay, I'll do that then, thanks. :)

..... Choosing between these two songs is incredibly hard... I'm going to listen to them both right now back to back to see if it helps me to decide, but it might just make it harder... lol

@Foro: I did, yes. After I hit reply, there was a dot as usual beside all the poll choices I made. But the tick boxes that were there for Alexander and TTAL were no longer there, even though I hadn't cast a vote in that match-up (and indeed, there is no dot next to either song, which shows that I didn't vote for that match-up).

If you use quick reply (the box at the bottom when viewing a thread) it doesn't usually submit any votes you have ticked, but does when you use the reply page (via More Options)

Ah... I should have explained myself better... sorry. lol I actually hit the "submit your vote" button after submitting my votes (aside from the ATG vs TTAL match-up), after which, I could no longer vote for either TTAL or ATG.

If you look, you can see that the TTAL vs ATG match-up has one less vote cast for it than the other match-ups, the missing vote is mine. lol

Yup :) Once you've hit submit your vote you've voted ;) All the poll knows is that you are allowed between 1 and 9 votes.. it doesn't know they must be paired and doesn't know you are meant to do 9, only up to 9 ;)

@Foro - The post reply at the bottom of the page is what I meant by quick reply :)

Ah well, you live and learn I guess... hehe :) As soon as I hit the "submit vote" button, I realised I hadn't cast a vote for either TTAL or ATG, hoping to see the tick boxes still beside them, but nope, I was no longer able to vote for either of them. At least I am aware now that any missed votes will not be able to be submitted once you've hit the "submit your vote" button. Hopefully I won't make that mistake again in future. :p

For me, the only song on TFF which is worse than Coming Home, is the title track.

Legacy
Coming Home
Longest Day
Where Eagles Dare
WTWWB
Blood Brothers
Alex
SSOASS
CSIT

Actually it doesn't know you can only vote up to nine either, you could tick every box and it would be a valid vote. I haven't tried, but I never saw an option to limit votes in a poll (there is an option to limit them to only one but that's it).

Four first options, four second options and Caught Somewhere In Time.

To me, CH and TT are close. The Talisman is a good song in my favourite style of songs. Coming Home is one of the best songs I've heard of its style, but I like that style less.

I've only listened to CH about 3 times... it just doesn't do anything for me. The only thing that's always irked me about "The Talisman" is how much the verse riff sounds extremely like the one from "Ghost Of The Navigator", and the fact that the song is also a seafaring tale just like GOTN, always makes me think of that song. But aside from that minor gripe, it's a great song, and my 2nd fave of TFF's long songs behind "Isle Of Avalon".

Oh, you said I could register my missing vote as a post... After a bit of deliberation, I've decided to vote for TTAL. Both songs are amazing, but TTAL just has a little extra something that I can't quite put my finger on... but that's my choice anyway. lol :)
