Hey guys this is my first post here, so I'd just like to say hi to everyone. Iced Earth...like em'? Hate em'? Favorite song? Favorite album? Talk anything Iced Earth here.

Waterloo...Isn't that on the special edition of The Glorious Burden?

Iced Earth rocks, although Iron Maiden still occupies #1 for me. I chose my name as an alteration from Birth of the Wicked.

For a while my favourite album was Something Wicked This Way Comes(hence my name), but since I can't decide anymore I think my three favourite are probably Burnt Offerings, Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Dark Saga. Besides the studio albums, I think Alive in Athens is one of the best live albums I've heard. You can hear the crowd, but it never overpowers the band and Matt Barlow sings great.

If I had to pick some favourite songs, here's how I'd choose from each album...

Iced Earth: Iced Earth, When The Night Falls(the version on AiA without the long acoustic intro is great)
Night of the Stormrider: Travel In Stygian, Pure Evil(awesome intro)
Burnt Offerings: Burnt Offerings, Brainwashed, Dante's Inferno
The Dark Saga: The Hunter(obviously!), Vengeance Is Mine, Slave To The Dark
Something Wicked This Way Comes: The Trilogy(of course), Burning Times, Watching Over Me
Horror Show: Damien, Dragon's Child, Dracula
The Glorious Burden: Hold At All Costs, High Water Mark(this album seems uninteresting to me so far besides these songs)

I've read a bunch on them and Jon Schaffer's story is pretty amazing. I never read it directly in an interview, but forum chatter was saying he used to sleep in abandoned houses when he was 15 and so many lineup changes.

I think their best singer was definitely Matt Barlow though. Too bad he left.

Woo. That was a lot, but hey you said talk about Iced Earth.

I've just got Horror Show and the Days Of Purgatory compilation. Might get some more soon. Phantom Of The Opera Ghost is a brilliant song! [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Luckily, you chose to talk about Iced Earth here. They get nothing but shit over at the IMBB.

Hmm Waterloo... I have no idea. I'm British and I have it as a 2-cd with the Gettysberg songs on the second disc. Dont think its an extra.

it is an extra lol. The "special edition" is a two cd package while the cheaper, standard version is only one and does not include all songs, the european version lacks the U.S national anthem (gee wonder why) and the U.S version lacks Waterloo... I think. hell one can always check icedearth.com

Well, now that I've got some replies I'll post again.

My 10 favorite songs(in no particular order)are:
Stormrider
Burning Times
Iced Earth(Barlow vocals)
I Died For You
Pure Evil
Travel In Stygian
Damien
Last December
Burnt Offerings
Watching Over Me

I have the U.S national anthem on my U.K cd!! [!--emo&:(--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

7th Son, are you referring to the bit of the US national anthem which opens "The Devil To Pay", or to the actual track "Star Spangled Banner"?

In the European version (which I have) there's no Star Spangled Banner nor acoustic When The Eagle Cries. In the US version (which I also have) there's no Waterloo. In the Special Extended 2 CD Set (which I ALSO have) all songs are included, but Gettysburg is its own CD.

Although this in not properly and Iced Earth CD, check out Tribute to the Gods, Im sure you'll absolutely like it. Anyway, Horror Show's for me the best Iced Earth CD, I even remembered old movies when I heard it

Well Horror Show does have those songs like Damien, Frankenstein, Dracula and so on. It's a good album though. Richard Christy and Steve DiGiorgio rule as a rhythm section!

Have you heard the Tribute to the Gods?

Hey guys, I want to ask something, here in Mexico if you include the national anthem you have to ask for permission to our government because if not it's considered like an offense (I don't agree with this but this is the way things are), what is the posture of the U.S. about including your national anthem in a CD? (By the way, Iced Earth made an excellent job in that intro)

In Mexico national symbols like the flag and the national anthem are practically sacred and they are not to be messed with. I agree with this... 96% haha. In the states I think it falls under freedom of speech/expression/artistic liscence etc that people can express themselves either by burning the flag or doing their own interpretation of the national anthemn.
