Hey girls and boys,

On Tuesday, I'll be going to Romania with my mates for two weeks. Although I'm taking my laptop with me, I won't have any internet there.
The crazy thing about this is that it isn't a simple holiday where I go off and return home two weeks later. When I'm coming back, I will stay home for a few hours at best and then... move to Hamburg. I got a position for my Zivildienst (civil service) there and it starts on 1st September. Since it is 500 km from where I'm living, I obviously have to move there. That means that I will be without internet access for one or two additional weeks. But I am positive that by the time of my birthday (26th September) I'll be back, with vengeance.
So, I have to say goodbye at this point, we will see each other again in a month or so. I may occasionally be online from an internet cafe or somewhere else, but don't count on it being permanent.
So, keep it steady and don't do any bullshit because I will know (I have a sixth sense for that) and then I'll find a place to log on and beat the crap out of you.

Well, I liked Romania itself very much, but the holiday was a disaster. One of ours got ill and that ruined it for us [!--emo&:(--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--] We didn't get to see much of the country, but I did see a lot from the plane (especially Transsylvania).
But I did get to appreciate good things about Romania: Health care is very good, the people are friendly and the prices are low (at least for westerners, but I doubt it is very good for locals).
I'm definately gonna go to Romania again to cruise the country.

Things will probably get A LOT better if the opposition wins the ellections in November [!--emo&<_<--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/dry.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'dry.gif\' /][!--endemo--]. THings are starting to be like in USA and UK: two great political super-powers and a lot of small parties

Well, the doctors probably thought they ripped us off, but it was pretty cheap. The doctors are well-educated and the hospital rooms are clean and have all the necessary equipment. OK, that was in Constanta, I don't know what it's like elsewhere.

Constanta ain't better than any other place. You're right, the doctors are well-educated. But there is a scandal now about a doctor who cut off a pacietns dicks while performing surgery on the guys' balls. [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--] I mean it. Draculas' Castle is about 40 km from where I live. It's actually a hotel,, built over a ROMAN fortress.

THe &th Son, Romania is a VERY beautifull counry, with all its' downsides. Anyone who has been here will tell you that.Here's a picture, taken by my brother, if you're not convinced[attachmentid=166]
