How often do you listen to Maiden

I was wondering about that today. I have 'Maiden periods' which come every once in a while, usually about a month or two long where 95% of what I'm listening to is Maiden. Right now I am in my longest period so far - since last year's August!

So, does anybody else want to share his Maiden habbits with us?

To answer your question, I am the same, I cycle through.  Sometimes I'm in a Maiden mood and sometimes I'm not.  Maiden is in almost every playlist I have for my iPod, so I hear them every week.  Its just that sometimes I take more effort to spin up a cd.

Oddly enough, my iPod decided to play Back in the Village, so... right now would be a good answer. A better one is, whenever my iPod decides it's time for Maiden.

listen to songs by maiden every day usually, some days i'll listen to more than others though of course lol, recently ive been listening an awful lot again, i'm watchin the flight 666 documentary now, incidently!

I usually hear a few Maiden songs a day - mostly from Boneyard. Which means I'm not hearing a wide selection.

For example, I played the AMOLAD album the other day, and realized I hadn't heard a few of those songs in a long time. Songs like FTGGOG and TCDR I hadn't heard since the period when the album was new (a few months after release).

Same here. I sort of ''re-discover'' them from time to time. I'm currently in a Cradle of Filth place now, because I've only recently started to listen to them. I re-discovered 'the Evil that Men Do' though, and I now believe that it's the best song Maiden ever wrote.

My last ''Maiden-Addiction'' was probobly last summer, when I saw them live.

It just happens, though sometimes I go...fuck me, I need to listen to Powerslave.

Fuck me!  I need to listen to Powerslave.

NP: Iron Maiden - Powerslave.

Ha!
I have that kind of impulse for Powerslave too!

I can't be without Maiden for that long...

Now, i'm on a Piece of Mind period.  The  bugle sounds and... ups...  :ninja:

Well, I'd say I listen to them at least once a week, the album and songs change. Having all 14 albums to choose from plus the various B'sides and other random songs helps keep the variety up. I generally save live albums for long journeys though.

I definately go through rediscovery periods. Last year I went through a major one when I essentially decided to give The X Factor a proper listen...and it was marvellous. This year as my ipod has gone a bit whack I only have a small selection to listen to (Rock in Rio to be precise). But I would say that I listen to on average about one Maiden song a day, at least. In the States it's probably a bit more because I just let iTunes run and since there's so much Maiden on it, it's guaranteed that I'll hear several songs. Lately I have been on the "discovery of new bands" path, so I haven't listened to so much Maiden as perhaps last year. It's been mostly Halford, Primal Fear and Edguy recently. But I'm sure after the summer I'll be more than happy to rediscover some Maiden (probably AMOLAD or Powerslave).

There are some days that I don't listen music at all,
but yet I listen to Maiden at least two days per month, which is not quite faire for me.
When a new album is out, I listen to it every day for environ. one month, after I get tired

Hmm, when I see that an iPod rules what people have to listen to, I find that a bit sad.

Does that ever actually happen?

Just because someone listens to ipod/itunes on shuffle doesn't mean they're "ruled" by it. It's a choice, just like playing an album.

I think you're inventing a scenario that doesn't really exist.

Exactly, specially when the only songs it has are the ones I put in it, so it is still music I enjoy regardless of band or genre...

That's how it works at work, I only get so many gbs of space, so I can only squeeze in 500 or so songs, so I just leave it on shuffle.

I always look at iTunes as my pre-programmed radio.  If I want to listen to something specifically, I'll create a play list for it.  If I'm in the mood for some pretty random stuff, I'll let it shuffle along.  I still come up with (usually) a better representation of the music that I like, as opposed to radio.

I always come up with a good representation of the music that I like. You know how?
I never listen to (music on) the radio.  :D
