How do i spot a fake soundhouse tapes ?

Hi , i have been offered an original soundhouse 7" vinyl. Any help in spotting a fake would be much appreciated. I know the sleeve should have a rear cut out & i know what the runout grooves should be. I am not sure what else to look for. Also were some copies pressed in around 1990 after the original batch.  Many thanks.

No.

There was a very limited CD edition sometime in the nineties, but of the original 7" vinyl, only the initial 5,000 copies issued in 1979 ever existed.

There are plenty of bootleg 7" versions though. A Japanese bootleg is the closest I've got to the real thing.

I held a real one in my hands once for a few seconds, and set my eyes on two other real ones. I couldn't afford to buy one, though.

Prices on eBay seem to have doubled from about £250 to £500 in the last couple of years. I'm holding out on seeing it in someone's record collection who doesn't know what it's worth.

As am I. I sometimes hold out hope of going to a boot sale and seeing a copy for 50p.

But I'm not banking on it.
