Imagine this tour: (songs separated with"/" alternates for every few concerts)

1 - Where Eagles Dare / Moonchild / Caught Somewhere in Time
2 - Ghost Of The Navigator / Wasted Years / Infinite Dreams
3 - Children Of The Damned / Stranger In A Strange Land / Still Life
4 - Fear Of The Dark / Powerslave / Fortunes Of War
5 - Flight Of Icarus / 22 Acacia Avenue / The Prisoner
6 - Montsegur / Sanctuary / Killers
7 - Paschandale / Phantom Of the Opera / Hallowed Be Thy Name
8 - 2 Minutes / Bring Your Daughter / The Clairvoyant
9 - Iron Maiden

Bonus (played when IM is in good mood [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]) : Afraid To Shoot Strangers / Rainmaker / Aces High / The Trooper

Total - 1 opener, 4 Fast Paced shorter (4-5 mins) songs, 2 Fast Longer song (near 6 min) 1 Epic and Iron Maiden + a bonus played from time to time.

I've covered all of the albums, except VXI

Total time is nearly 60 minutes.

Take any one combination, and change it with Gimme Ed Tour.
Add any 3 more DoD song, and change it with DoD World Tour.

Now, think and be honest. Is the problem short setlist or something else? Like predictability? hearing same songs, thus diminishing effect of classics? Lack of freshness, variaton?

Even this shorter, I think majority would pick this setlist, even though it is even shorter than the actual setlist.

Well why not...

I'm happy with any set list as long as I get to see them live [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Hmmm have I meet you before eddiesson? You seems rely femiliur to me

I actually like the DoD tour setlist. It makes sense to me that they would change so many songs. We now have a lot of their recent greats (Sign of the Cross, the Clansman, and stuff from BNW) recorded live with Bruce on RiR...why not toss in some others? I am particularly looking forward to hearing Lord of the Flies.

But you do make a point...perhaps they should have dropped NotB and Run to the Hills from their setlist...I would rather hear Man on the Edge or Bring Your Daughter, or perhaps something from Virtual XI like When Two Worlds Collide...

Who said that Dance Of Death Tour is short??
They play for almost 110 minutes!! As usual [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/unsure.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'unsure.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Well if you font like Maiden playing Trooper every year then stop cheering it when its played! If the band stop getting a good reaction to the old favourites they might try something different

I'd like a setlist mixing the classics and the new songs...
But, I think they cannot do a show without the trooper, iron maiden, run to the hills of Hallowed...

I personally wouldn't be that embarassed when I see IM playing Trooper again, (despite I never saw them live with Bruce) because I know every single detail, and listened it thousands of times in bootlegs. Yes, the atmosphere in the gigs is awesome, but I would be more embarassed to see them doing Montsegur, Ghst Of Navigator or The Prisoner. Nad the atmosphere on gig, and outside the gig (I mean forums, newsgroups and chatrooms) wold be even more exciting.

So RW, I wouldn't cheer at Trooper, at least wouldn't cheer as much as I cheer for Lord Of The Flies, even though I don't like it better than Trooper, but I liketo hear more variation.

Funny thing is Bruce Dickinson blame some fans to have stuck in 80's, but it's IM who's stuck in the same 80's songs, and oing in harmony with them, or the other way around. I want to hear new songs, post-7th Son songs, as they sond better with their actual concert gear. But as for pre-7th son, I want to hear different tracks even they are less in number.
