I see where Helloween is going to have a new cd coming out. Are they going to have the original lineup? An what was the orginal singers name that was in the band back when the future world cd came out? I always thought he was on about the same level as bruce singing.

oh man you are way out of touch with what Helloween is up to lately. They are FAR from having the "original" lineup. the "original" line-up consisted of Wiekath, Kiske, Hansen, Grosskopf and Schwar...something rather.. Ingo hehe. Kai Hansen left during the Keeper II tour in 88 and was replaced by Roland Grapow. Michael Kiske left the band in 1993 after the Chameleon album and was replaced by Andi Deris. Ingo commited suicide and was replaced with Uli Kusch (great drummer). Both Roland and Uli were kicked out after their Dark Ride album for paying to much attention to solo projects, they went off and formed Masterplan. So the current line-up of Helloween is a shadow of their former selves with the only two "original" members being Wiekath and Grosskopf. For more please visit Helloween.org. I did not make it a link because i'm an ass like that. thanks for the info. I hadn't had a computer long.
But where i'm from you can't really keep up with music much. There's not but one store that sells music ( wal-mart) an they pretty much just sell the top 40.

Yeah, wal-mart does suck in the music department, yet I did find Pearl Jam and Pink Floyd there hehe. No problem, oh and the new album MIGHT be called, even Helloween isn't too sure, Keeper of the Seven Keys III

I might be mistaken, but as far as I know, Helloween never made an album called "Future World". Pretty Maids did, but then again Ronnie Atkins is a pretty amazing vocalist as well [!--emo&^_^--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/happy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'happy.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I heard about Helloween for about a year ago. First song I heard was Dr. Stein. Now i love Helloween almost like Iron Maiden. But Kiske was the best vocalist. So i like the old stuff best. Keeper of the seven keys are the best records. Songs: Halloween,I want out, Dr. Stein, Future world.Keeper... The whole cds are fantastic [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Sorry for getting them messed up.

ok just checked the helloween site, future world was released as a single and it was in their album KOTSK pt I

I got Helloween's Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy and.... OMFG! It is fing brilliant! Hands down their best effort since better than raw. I was kind of skeptic after the piece of shit that was Rabbit don't come easy, but I was floored. This proves they are still the best power metal band around no doubt. I HIGHLY recomend it. It is HEAVY, POWER and Helloween at their finest!

I only have Keepers Part 1 and 2, and I love them both. I Want Out has to be one of the best songs ever, and Michael Kiske is one of my favorite vocalist. However, that's the only Helloween I've heard. I haven't tried their newer stuff, but some of you guys are saying that Keepers: The Legacy is a good album, so I might check it out. Also, Michael Kiske is a guest vocalist in the song Judas at the Opera, which was just released by Edguy on their latest single. Kiske sounds as great as he ever did.

I know, I know, it's just an opinion and everyone is entitled to their own. But I wonder what kind of a person would rate that song among "the best ever?" Don't get me wrong; I think "I want out" is a fine, competent song. But don't you think it is a bit...uh...ordinary? I mean, its basically the same structure as every other cock rock song release in the 80's: verse-bridge-chorus, vers-bridge-chorus, bridge-solo, chorus (repeat and fade to finish). Doesn't that get boring after a (very short) while? And while the lyrics do express a noble sentiment -- of course individuality is a good thing -- it doesn't do it in a way that would make you think anything new about it. In fact, it seems to me a rather juvenile distortion of the idea of individuality: "I don't think like my life and the things people make me do so I want to put it all behind me and be on my own." That's not individualism; that's selfishness.

I've been checking out Kiske's solo work, and sadly, none of it comes close to what he did with Helloween.
The self-titled albums aren't very good, Supared is good pop rock, but not metal, Same goes for the new "Place Vendome" album - some of the best AOR I've heard in a while but definitely not metal.
I'd go with any of the other "spin-offs"/solo projects anyday; Masterplan, Gamma Ray, Primal Fear etc.

There's no denying that Kiske's one of the best vocalists out there (he's on my top 10 for sure), and that makes it even more a shame that we only get to fully enjoy him when he makes guest appearances (Edguy, Avantasia, Masterplan and others).

The new Keeper album is high above anything Helloween have released in the past 10-15 years, but I still prefer the original two. I can't make up my mind as to wether this is truly deserving of the "Keeper" name. It has some amazing tracks, some really great, and a few not-so-good ones. I guess it's Deris' vocals that keep putting me off. I just can't stand him after a few listens, and I feel like going back to the Kiske era. But that's just me.

I initially wondered if the album did merit the "Keeper" name, but after a few listens I was/am convinced that it is. Listen to the guitar parts/harmonies, solos, and the overall lyrical content of the album. For example, "King For a Thousand Years" is comparable to "Eagle Fly Free" in many aspects - namely the length, content, development/progression, and the solos (esp. bass solo).
In my opinion, it's undeniably worthy of the name and an unbelievable installment to the "Keeper" parts.

Mrs. God was obviously made as the radio single (2:55 minutes?! WTF?) But I still find it good enough. Helloween has the tendancy of making great music (keepers 1 and 2) followed by average to midiocre work (pink bubbles go ape, chameleon) then do average to good work (master of the rings, time of the oath) and THEN make an AMAZING album again (better than raw (still my fave deris era album) again followed by an ok album (the dark ride), followed by crap (rabbit don't come easy) and with this last Keeper album... BRILLIANT again.

The problem I have with Helloween is that it only has two original members Wietkath and Grosskopf, can that still be called "Helloween"? The band has changed so much and Deris has taken over a big bulk of the writting. I still like it, but there is a distinct difference from 80's helloween and 90's helloween.
