Thought it was something about new single or sormething. C'mon, open a thread for this?! ::)
Come on, the guy was excited and happy that a radio station finally played some Maiden.  ;)
But yes, I also thought it was something about a single.  :P

I'm used to Fonz 'unnecessary' threads, but I like his excitement about anything Maiden related he comes across.

XM/Sirius, on occasion will have an all Metallica channel for a month or more.  How about an all Iron Maiden channel.  I'd be much more interested in that than Metallica.

I heard Paschendale on a mainstream national radio channel once :).  It was pretty cool.  I've also heard Alexander the Great, No More Lies, and Caught Somewhere in Time on the same channel, as well as all of the Maiden live staples loads of times.  So Run to the Hills?  Nah...

One particular radio station here plays Run to the Hills (and The Trooper) all the time. Like there isn't any other Maiden songs out there.

What channel was that? Can you compare it to a local, USA metal station?

Well, it's a Finnish nation-wide mainstream rock channel, so make your own comparisons; I have no idea about American stations.

All you need to know is that mainstream rock in the States includes bands like 3 Doors Down and Shinedown. Yes, it's that bad. Sometimes you'll come across a station like that in bigger towns that will occasionally play decent stuff, but most of the time, everyone should just stick to NPR.

However, Sirius XM's metal station is damn solid. Everyone should check out Ian Christie's Sunday show, Bloody Roots. it's a fucking brilliant "heavy metal history lesson," as he calls it. http://soundofthebeast.com/splash.html is the website for his show, if you're interested.

If you click on the link I gave, you'll see what American stations play. With a few exceptions, it's total shit!
