What can I say? As a thrash advocate, I just want to be able to bang my head as if up from the dead and not deal with any of this commercialism that Slayer have taken to. Will I be buying their new album? No, I'll just stay with the classic stuff that I know and love.

Bring back old school thrash is what I say
Quite a few old school thrash bands are reforming at the minute. One of the thrashest gigs this summer is Testament, Onslaught and Xentrix in the Bradford Rio on the thrid of June. I would kill to be able to go to this but unfortunately thanks to money being non-existant and it being the day after school ends, its a no go for me :( I urge any of you with money and a love of thrash to make this pilgrimage, as the likes will possibly never be seem again (and I'm going to miss it )

Well Conor, Slayer pretty much declined after Divine Intervention, so it's not like this news really brings anything new to the table. God Hates Us All was filled to the brim with mallcore influences, with the excessive swearing, rapped lines and the half-thrash "riffs". Also, Hot Topic has been selling Slayer merchandise for quite a while you know. ;) As for bringing back some old-school thrash, try Destroyer 666's Cold Steel...For An Iron Age or Phoenix Rising. Well, they're more blackened death/thrash metal to be exact, but these Aussies should quench your thirst for some riffingly good metal.

Hot Topic is just the lowest of the lows. Mallcore poseurs
Iron Maiden sells merchandise at Hot Topic. Have they sold out? Just because a band starts selling merchandise at a certain store doesn't mean they "sold out." What does it matter where you buy something, as long as you get what you wanted. I actually like some of the shirts and other things they sell, does that make me a poser? I don't like a lot of the bands' merchandise they sell, but I have a lot of shirts from bands like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Am I a poser because I like those two bands? I don't think so. Am I a poser because I buy merchandise from those bands? I don't think so. So how would I be a poser if I bought it from Hot Topic? Does it really matter what store I buy it from? I was into those bands before I even heard of Hot Topic, so how would that make me a poser?

Sorry for the rant, but I'm trying to get a point across. Don't assume someone is a poser just because they like  a certain band or shop at a certain store.

What's this? No, "don't give a shit" option? and you call this a poll!? pfft, is what I say!

We members of the tr00 metal militia always have concrete proof to back up our persecution of posers :p

Iron Maiden sells merchandise... (blah blah blah) ...certain store.
It's not the fact that a band sells merchandise at a certain store, it's the fact that Slayer are promoting thier new album through the shop ;)

I say people who shop at Hot Topic are posers because I am using poetic license to, get this, generalise people ;) That is what most modern comedy is about, stereotyping people who are different than others.  Of course not all people who buy merchandise in that particular commercial outlet are posers, but the vast majority are ;)

PS: I've used the wink smilie thre times... probably because the other shortcuts confuse me :P
