Just wanted to share [a href=\'http://www.blackfuel.nl/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=516\' target=\'_blank\']this song[/a], by French (I think) metallers Gojira. Great death metal, with some prog elements. Heavy as f*ck all the way. if you're into stuff like Morbid Angel or even Mastodon, I'm sure you'll like this. They combine the heaviness of the former with the complexity and melodies of the latter (not that MA aren't complex [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--] ). The song is off their latest album, "From Mars to Sirius", and what I've heard from that album kicks severe arse as well.

Not sure if the mp3 is legal, was linked to it from another board, so if this is a problem, I'll remove the link immediately.

Oh, and "Gojira", apparently, is the original Japanese name for Godzilla.

I'm not sure what to think about Mastodon. I've never heard their studio recordings, but I saw them live this past summer. I couldn't stand their vocals - death-metal grunting isn't my cup of tea. But their guitarists were really, really good. I'd love their stuff if they only did real singing instead of grunting.

By the way, the link at the top of this thread is now broken - when I clicked it, I got a "site not found" error.

I quite like Mastodon, but I must admit it took some listens before I "got" them. They combine both screaming/grunting and more "clear" vocals, although it's growling most of the time.

The link works fine for me.
