Ok, so there's this chick who I've had a 'crush' (for lack of a better, non-adolescent word) on for a bit. The friendship we have is kinda complicated, but the long of the short of it is that I can't just come out and tell her. Shit happens.
So a few weeks ago she asked me if I had plans for this weekend. I said no. So she asks if I want to go to Boston with her. I've never been to Boston, and it's about a 12-16 hour trip by car (if you don't take the ferry to Maine or Saint John). The reason she's going is completely bizarre, and this is the absolute LAST place where I'd dare say it. (interpret that as you may) But I said yes anyway, for three reasons:
1) I've never been there, and I love road trips to new places.
2) cheap booze to buy coming home at the Duty-Free Store
3) such a long trip will enable us to really talk crap over
So we're leaving after work tomorrow. We'll take turns driving, and should arrive in Mass. sometime Saturday morning or noon. Hopefully we won't get caught up at the border (St. Stephan, NB - Calais, ME) I hear wait times at some of the crossings can be brutal during summer.
This sounds silly, but I'm excited to travel Maine's Route 9 again. It's a much-malaigned [a href=\'http://www.virtualtruckroute.com/music_lyrics_atombstoneeverymile.html\' target=\'_blank\'](click here for a song about it)[/a] road that is really a beautiful look at the true heart of America.
I don't travel outside of Canada much; hell, I don't travel outside of NS-NB-PEI (mostly due to lack of $). But when I do go places, I have fun.
I have no idea what I'm going to do there, but that's not really important. I'll try some local beer, get a bowl of New England chowdah, and maybe visit Fenway Park, and a few historical sites, but other than that I got nothin'.
I enjoy the journey more than the destination, I think.
So anyway, I just realised that this is a silly place to post all this crap.
If you read this far, you're a voyeur with too much time on your hands. Unless you're LC, in which case you already know this story. Which means to REALLY have too much time.
I think I have too much free time if I can write crappy posts like this.
