Well, the title and description kind of tell all.

But, just to clarify, I was wondering how many people (be it friends, family members or class/workmates) have you introduced to Maiden, and what was the story behind it?

Well, I'll start.

I've introduced just one of my friends to Iron Maiden. This was when I was talking to him on MSN Messenger, and I said something like "This song I'm listening to is ace!" He asked what it was, and I told him it was Sun And Steel by Iron Maiden. I then sent him the song, and he didn't think much of it. But I wouldn't give up that easily. I took the Piece Of Mind album to school the next day, and told him he could borrow it. He decided to agree, and take it (probably just to shut me up), and he ended up liking it. From there, he bought a couple of albums, and also became a fan.

So, share your "Maiden-sharing" experience!

My mate got me introduced to Maiden over msn and I was hooked nearly from the start with "hallowed..." Since then i have bought all their studio albums and some live ones aswell.
I then tried to get some other friends to like Maiden by sending them about 10 songs each on msn. The problem isn't that they don't like Maiden, it is that they downloaded ther full discography and won't buy any CDs. I know that these mates will only be part time Maiden fans and will "grow out of it" but my bitter experience of their selfishness has led me to not try and influence others in music. I've hooked people to Metal in general, one of the bands I show them is Maiden of course. And those who don't get hook at least tell me they kick ass.

I got my brother hooked...if that counts.

He was only into rap at a time and I played the RiR version of Fear Of The Dark for him, then he heard The Wickerman and a few others and eventually all he listened to was Maiden, Ive also got him hooked on Helloween and Savatage.

I hooked my mom!!!, wich it's incredible because first she always would come to my room and scream "turn that thing off", but now, she comes and says "hey, that's a good song".

My mom still thinks maiden is satanic noise. I havent really introduced maiden to anyone, because I dont think dogs count. [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

My mum doesn't care what I listen to. I tried to get her to listen to maiden once (CSiT) but it didn't work. One of my friends in school got me hooked on maiden after sending me some sounds over MSN. I later managed to get another one of my friends into Maiden by lending him Ed the Great. Quite an achievement, considering he didn't listen to any music, let alone metal, by this stage! He now has all my Maiden stuff on his computer and is beginning to listen to some death metal (although he says he hates the vocals). I'm also trying to get another one of my friends into Maiden. He's a lot into Metallica (not a metalhead) and I recently got him into Priest, so I'm working away at him until I can get him right between the eyes with RiR's FotD [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]. Nearly everyone I know who has heard Maiden likes them, with one or two exceptions (but they listen to Slipknot and Rage Against the Machine)

i got my mum hooked too! [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--] she was teenager in the 80's, so she has always liked Rock and Heavy Metal. when i introduced Maiden to her she said that she "heard that name before" (well i think she hadn't ;D ). so novadays, when just the 2 of us are at home, we turn the cd-player on, put in some maiden cd:s and have a good time&(sometimes)clean up the whole house!(the house's about 300 square metre) [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Oh dear, I haven't managed to get anyone hooked on Iron Maiden. But why should I care? I like 'em, don't care if no-one else does.

When I played Maiden to my mother, she said they sounded a bit folky! She was suprised when she heard Rime of the Ancient Mariner though - rock stars who can read?! No way!

Heh. Actually, everythime I see him I yell 'listen to Dark Tranquillity' at him. One time, when he wasn't looking, I tippex-ed 'Dark Tranquillity' onto his pencil case, so everyone who sat beside him asked him who they were! Hilarious! Update: Gave the second friend Ed the Great, he likes Fear of the Dark, Trooper and Futureal...from a first listen! And my mum walked into my bedroom when I had No More Lies on one day. She said 'That doesn't sound like Iron Maiden' and when I told her it was, she was really shocked! Maybe if I work away at her...and I am determined to get all my kids (if I have any) into metal. I'm not having any spawn of my loins defiling their ears with 50 cent or some other hip-hop crap [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Once I was listening to a random mix on iTunes. First of all a Def Leppard song came on and my mother thought it was Iron Maiden. We must remember with things like this that when our parents were age, they though that what they were listening to was really "out there". They probably said to themselves,

"When I have children I will make them like The Rolling Stones" because they are such a great band" [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/rolleyes.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'rolleyes.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

The point is that music changes and attitudes change, but most important, we don't want to like the same things as our parents [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Hmmm....do you suppose if I play Maiden to babies in their sleep it'll implant the tune in their minds subliminally, and then they'll grow up to be Maiden fans??? [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

Further on the second friend, he listened to Ed the Great and said he liked it-after one listen, he liked several songs enough to know them by name (considering I think he was doing something else while listening to them as well!). He said he liked The Trooper, Futureal and Fear of the Dark. If only they had Hallowed Be Thy Name on Edward the Great....

It is quite possible, the more times we listen to something, especially music, the more our brains accept it. It's technical heavy metal like prog that takes a lot of listens to get used to, with cheesy pop tunes sticking in our heads all day after the first listen ::

I think if anybody listened to metal enough times, they would get to like it.

:: Now that's fucking hilarious! I haven't really had much luck trying to get others into Maiden, a lot of people still think that they're blasphemic evil satanists and so forth. If getting others into metal is this hard, I'm not even going to try getting them into the funeral doom and grindcore stuff I like. ::
By the way Conor, which grim and frostbitten album Immortal was playing? :: Their last three albums are pretty easy to get into.

So if you listen to the soup the radio is dishing out all day, you'll end up liking it too after a while? ::

lol. I have desperately tried to get other people I know into maiden.
One in particular- a techno/Urban/hip hop clap trap/electronic(they all seem to blend into the same awfulness dont they?) mindless drivel fan I call my best friend. I sent numerous songs on MSN, various ages of maiden, different singers/drumers/styles etc.
Result? The only song he likes (my god I still chuckle at this) is the Angel and the Gambler lmao.
Other than that any one I know is either already into maiden or predudiced against them i.e Satanic this that the other blah blah.
