Floor Tickets = A Bad Thing?

I saw Maiden in 2008 in Vancouver, but I had crap seats. Way off in the back up high in the nose bleed section. Still a great show though.

This time, I wanted to change that, so I got floor tickets. The question is, am I gonna get destroyed?

I want to get as close as possible to the stage, but I'm just a little guy. Will I be able to focus and enjoy the show, or am I going to have to be on guard at all times. Fending off elbows to the side of my face?

What is your experience with Maiden and floor tickets?

Well, get there as early as you can and camp out. That way you'll be guaranteed to be up close. Even if you're not that close, maybe you can worm your way up to the front. Being on the floor may not be the best experience, but at least most DT and Maiden fans don't mosh so you don't have to worry about that. Or, maybe you can trade your ticket to someone who has a really good assigned seat and wants to be on the floor. Get there early enough and you never know what will happen. Best of luck to you! :)

No man you wont get destroyed, there will be a big push when maiden come on stage (usually happens at any rock concert) but it should stop by the end of the second song. You will get pushed around but it will be nothing to bad and if some assholes decide to make a mosh pit you will have more then enough time to get out of the way. The crowds have been great when I've been in the pit for Maidens shows (expect at Heavy MTL but that was a 20 000+ festival), I was 15, 150 pounds and flying solo when I first saw Maiden in a pit and I had the time of my life I just ignored all the small bumps and pushes. If the pit gets to rough (which I doubt it will) Bruce will probably tell the crowd to calm down.

*just cause I said "assholes decide to make a mosh pit" doesn't mean I don't like them, I just think you can only mosh to certain bands and Maiden is defiantly not one of them.*

Edit: DO NOT TRADE YOUR TICKETS! you will most likely regret it. Like fonz said get there early as possible and you'll have the time of your life.

Welcome to the forum nice to have another Canuck join us :)

You have nothing to worry about. They only sell as many tickets as if there where seats. Yes people "push" up but you can stand "10 rows" back and have an incredible view, sip your libation of choice and enjoy the show. This pertains to arena shows.

Don't worry about the floor. The meatheads that bump and knock into you are the dolts that are "bored" by the new stuff. They'll hate this setlist right up until Iron Maiden. Everyone who is really into will push ahead and you'll get the true fans upfront--the ones who are fired up to be seeing the new classics. (Well, except for Wildest Dreams)

im in a similar perdicament (spelling?) to you mozzle, i wouldnt be too worried about being destroyed cause with much review of live videos the worst youll get is pushed in a surge of bodies forward... im more bothered in the height of being able to see stage criteria... in only 5'10'' soim just gunna be getting to the doors of the dublin show as early as possible. fingers crossed my ferry does its job properly       oh british transport    <_<

I usually stand near the back.  It's not worth getting crushed unless you are actually in the front row.

And if you are going to an outdoor shed venue, most of the pits there are pretty small anyway.

I won't be able to get to show until 6 because of work. Which I believe is around the time the doors open . . am I screwed with floor tickets? Do you think the floor will be packed for Dream Theater?
