It looks like another myth has been debunked.
Scientific progress is a great thing, but it sometimes takes the romantic elements out of our world.

Apparently, Japanese scientists have managed to film a living giant squid. The existence of this species is long known, and much evidence has been found, but so far, no living specimen has ever been sighted.

The complete story can be read [a href=\'http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20050927/sc_afp/scienceanimalssquid;_ylt=Arq1PUDFZqVgJ.PaEKJXCgIDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl\' target=\'_blank\']here[/a].

And here it is:

Isn't it beautiful?

"When the severed limb was brought up to the surface, its huge suckers were still able to grip the boat deck and any fingers that touched them -- testimony indeed to the myths of yore, that spoke of monstrous arms that grabbed ships and hauled them to their doom."
Interesting...

Yarrrr!
