He was doin' a bunch of things (Maiden, solo stuff, fencing, writing books or something...) and something had to give. I guess he just got tired of Maiden or something.

Same reason, I suppose... got tired of Maiden and wanted to do something different.

Blaze was kicked out. I dunno why, exactly... they were never quite clear on that.

Although the band would probably deny this, I suspect it was because of the low record sales and low popularity level. There was talk of Bruce comming back, even when Blaze was still a member. I know Blaze was having voice problems during the tour 'n' all, but that's no reason to kick him out of the band... just revise your touring schedule, instead (which the band recently did for the DoD tour.)

As for Bruce comming back, I guess he was just into it again... dunno.

Someone help me out here, as I'm not too sure about this. I think that was Bruces idea, which Steve agreed on as well... and of course, Adrian wanted in as well. Steve had originally intended for Iron Maiden to be a three-guitar band, anyway.

Bruce left because he wanted to pursue other interests, like his solo career. Here's a quote from Bruce himself: "I was very uncomfortable with the automatic respect accorded to me because of being in Iron Maiden. I felt I didn't deserve respect automatically. It had to be earned. I did two things. First, I learned to fly aeroplanes, second I quit Iron Maiden."

Adrian left mainly because he couldn't keep up with the hard touring schedules and wanted more privacy than Maiden could offer him.

During the Virtual XI Blaze started having problems with the voice. There was a rumour about Bruce coming back to Maiden, and Rod suggested to Steve that he should take this in consideration. After a few chats between Bruce and Steve, they decided that this was probably the best thing to do. After the decision, they told Blaze about it, and he left Maiden, but remained good friends with all the band members.

During the Killer World Tour, Paul's voice kept going out during gigs and forced maiden to cancel lots of concerts. Paul drank and partied too much, smoked like a chimney and in general didn't take care of his voice. Due to this he was fired and replaced by Bruce Dickinson.

Clive was also fired beacuse he was partying too much, and messed up his drumming on gigs.

Well, I've known that when Bruce said he wanted to go back to Iron Maiden, he said he'll only return with his guitar player (in that moment, was H)... And Steve Agreed with the deal... Because [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/bowdown.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'bowdown.gif\' /][!--endemo--] H is a great guitar player, without him, maiden would'nt be the same.

When I was new to Maiden and wanted to get facts, I searched on the web. But of course, then I didn't know of this page nore the official BB [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

From the Maiden biography:

"Bruce came down and explained why he'd left in the first place," remembers Rod. "Then Steve said his piece, which was basically, 'Why do you wanna come back now?' Bruce said, 'Because I'm sick of doing clubs. I want to do big things again. I want to finish off playing to 20,000 people, not 2,000.' Bruce said he'd always loved the band and wanted to make another killer Maiden album. And then we went down the pub," he beams.
"It was great," remembers Steve. "Adrian was the only one who wasn't there, but I rang him on my mobile to tell him. I remember standing in the pub car park on the phone. I laid it all on the line. I said, 'I want you back, 'cause it takes Maiden somewhere else, musically.' Then, the next day, Rod called him to confirm."

That should explain it [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
