Förbanad! (trans: really mad!)

This is a rant and rave, vent my anger type post.

I have been to many places around the globe. Amongst them places like Rome where pickpockets and thieves are very common and where you gotta watch your bag or else. I have returned from all these places with all my stuff intact. But guess what happens as soon as I set foot in good old Sweden (note the irony)? You guessed it, some dude steals my bag in the airport. Good for nothing Arlanda airport. Everything gone: passport, money, phone, ipod, Eddie wristband....*sob*...The security and police in that airport are practically non existant, and the personale are not exactly helpful either. So I'm angry right now. Very. With any luck I'll have my new passport by tomorrow, but I need to get my american visa redone of course which is a hassle and a bother.

So this is me right now:

Ai, he took it without you seeing it? Or was it stolen while you were carrying it?

Goodluck with it. Perhaps they'll find him and/or your stuff!

Damn...sorry to hear about this Nat. Having stuff taken from you is one of the worst possible things - you feel so helpless and impotent to do anything about it, and the more you think about the person with your stuff the more pissed off you become (I'm speaking from experience here!)

You can at least take solace in knowing that what goes around will eventually come around...whoever took your stuff will get what's coming to him eventually.

Yeah, and Leprechauns fuck bunnies beneath rainbows.

I was thinking something along those lines. ;)

We do have people that consistently flout the law and never get their comeuppance.

Hard luck on that Natalie.

I've become near-paranoid about my bag whenever I'm in Gothenburg. Round neck/shoulder it goes every time, and when I'm on the train I make sure to have the strap wrapped around my hand. I have not been robbed myself, but it seems everyone around me out there has :p

My paranoia isn't helped by the fact that I'm usually lugging my laptop around either. At least I made sure to pick a bag that doesn't look like a laptop-bag.

Hopefully you'll see him someday and give him a dansk skalle :p

Sorry to hear about it Natalie, but just remember that at the end of the day they were just things. I too am talking about experiance. You are fine, unharmed, alive and will be able to replace the bag and most things in it. Sure it is time consuming and a hassle, but after all replaceable. So think happy thoughts, relax and try to enjoy the rest of your trip.

Listen, you sarcastic wanker, I wasn't talking about supernatural karma. I meant to imply that those who are untrustworthy eventually get it thrown back at them. The person will eventually get caught for stealing someday, or he'll steal from the wrong person and get the crap beat out of him, etc.
Most likely he's already involved in other criminal activities, which means he has a much greater chance of suffering a violent death than others. The possibilities are really endless.

In a way, though, the perpetrator of this, and any other crime, has already lost - anyone he knows and loves enough to tell of his crime can never again completely trust him.

Try not to be so much of a contrarian, Perun. It can't be good for your sex life.

Spare me your pseudo-psychological babble that invariably narrows down to the fact that you think I don't have enough sex. It's not original, and my sex life is none of your business. Not everybody has been living in an ivory tower for the last twenty-odd years, and some people simply got screwed in their lives while having to  watch those who screwed them getting away with it laughing all the way to the bank. I'm talking out of experience here.

Well, Natalie, on behalf of Sweden I can only apologize :) It's strange, I've been living here for 40 years and nothing has ever happened to me or anyone I know and then you pop in for a holiday (?) or something and BANG! it happens. I'm really sorry for you. The only thing even remotely similar that has happened to me was when I lived in Headington, just outside Oxford. But I had 3 pubs within 100 meters from the house so something was bound to happen sooner or later, I guess ;)

Perun's a professional pickpocket/conman, and he just moved into a high-class Berlin mansion where he smokes cigars made from fine Cuban tobacco chopped with stolen 100 Euro bills and wrapped in poorly worded legal documents.

/agrees with Perun.

Thanks for the moral support guys (and girls), you made me laugh IronDuke, Perun and LC :).

Cheers for it all, but things is Anomica, I've been to Swedn countless times and nothing like this has ever happened so...I was just shocked and Swedish pride hurt I suppose :innocent:...

That's what we're here for, my dear. Perun and I don't hate each other...we just get off on seeing who can annoy the other more.
