Just got done watching the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull after not watching it for some time and being a big Iron Maiden Fan for a long time. It didn't hit me until I was watching the movie and Indy and Mutt are looking at some research about Akator and mentioned El Dorado "The Lost City of Gold". I am now even more curious than before, were the lyrics intended to be about greed as such of the capitalist society or the downfall of of a Muisca tribal chief who covered himself with gold dust and the city was eventually overrun by the Spanish Conquistadors.

I'm still looking for a hidden meaning behind Hellenism he spread far and wide, the Macedonian-learned mind, the culture was a western way of life, he paved the way for Christianity. There must be one.
 
I don't get why just because IJ mentions a City of Gold means maiden wrote a song about it. The legend of Eldorado has been around for years.  The City of Gold used in the song is a metaphor for the corruption in the current economy. The City of Gold is a scam and the people who believed in it caused one of the biggest economic crisis ever. There is no hidden message or movie referance it is just a metaphor that is common in poetry and lyrics by Bruce.
 
Yes I did watch the movie and I must admit I did doze off a few times. I know that Maiden looks at historial fact with the exception of Man on the Edge. That was so obvious, a briefcase a lunch a man on the edge. A grab from Falling Down. I guess Steve was reaching at that point.

The first half of the film was on par...the second half (plus the excessive use of CGI) not so much. Introducing aliens annoyed me so much!

The car/motor bike chase scene into the library was pure cinema gold.
