I noticed a few posters had pics of dogs and was curious to hear from other dog lovers... I've got a 1 year old mini pinscher type mutt named Sharona and she is awesome!
Truly a metal mutt! She has grown up with Maiden and metal blasting and it doesn't bother her at all.. despite her small size she's not afraid of possums, mice, bigger dogs, people, etc.... :) I have to watch her or she might get herself into trouble...

I think dogs are very metal because they are loyal until the end..btw anyone else catch David Lee Roth's dog barking in the background of "Honeybabysweetiedoll" on the new VH album? Tell me about your dog! Cheers!

A subject close to my heart... dogs. My wife and I share our home with B.B., a 4 year old male shih tzu/yorkshire terrier cross. Yeah, he's named after the blues icon Mr. King, of whom my wife is quite a fan. B.B. is a music fan as well... through necessity, as it's been a constant presence in his life. He's also one of the few creatures on the planet that seem to be a fan of my guitar playing... he'll curl up at my feet as I wail away, and the frequent clunkers don't seem to phase him a bit!

As we don't have kids, all of our parental instincts get poured into our animals. B.B.'s predecesors were Toby (a shih tzu) and Bandit (a German shepherd/coyote cross). His best friend is our 19 year old kitty, Buster. She's an old girl, but still has some piss and vinegar in her... she frequently takes B.B. down and shows him who's the boss of the house.

I'm far from anti-social, but I often think to myself that the more time I spend around people, the more I appreciate my animals:lol:

The only thing i could say in this topic is that i really miss her. I wouldn't trade her for about 90% of the people i have known so far in my life. That's the tragedy, their lives are stupidly short.

By the way, she was taught by a cat. That's right, the bad relationship between cats and dogs are, to my experience, nothing but a ridiculous rumor

You clearly never met my German Shepard, that bitch (literally haha!) would chase any cat she saw when I took her for a walk and would drag me down the street (also literally, I was like 6).

In related news I caught the West Minster Kennel Club dog show two nights in a row. In the First one, best in show went to a deerhound, really odd dog, looks like... well... a freaking deer, odd legs, but magnificent. The next night a Pikanese won. This dog is hilarious! Looks like a mop with legs hahaha, the face reminds me a bit of the Pug. I can't believe it actually kept my interest. I like dogs, but never thought I'd watch a dog show. I guess I miss having a dog that much.

Dogs are all right. Nothing special. ;)

Seriously, I do have a love for these animals. I have two, both white JRT types. I got a new one recently from a re-homing centre recently. He is an absolutely lovely dog but has one or two bad habits that we intend to get out of him (rescue dogs are always going to be hard work).

I'm in a similar place to Taker - I don't have kids either. And the dogs, well, they will always get the "substitute child" treatment.

I was going to make an ex-girlfriend joke, but realized it was in bad taste... damn, growing up sucks ass.
