Do they play metal on MTV?

Just wondering, did you ever see any metal on MTV. I watch it sometimes, but they don't show/play any real metal (Nu sometimes). I once downloaded some Blind Guardian music videos and they were from MTV. Do i have to watch MTV more often to see something or simply they don't play anything these days anymore [!--emo&:angry:--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/mad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'mad.gif\' /][!--endemo--] ?

MTV Germany shows/plays only Nu Metal and Metallica(they play songs of the St.Anger Album,which is probably the worst Metallica Album ever) [!--emo&:angry:--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/mad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'mad.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
But if you are lucky you can see Maiden once a week on a channel called Viva Plus

It would be the bottom of bottom to hear Maiden, See MTV. It would be a grief.

I think you have to have MTV2 if you ever want to see any metal on TV. The regular MTV doesn't show any good videos (and even if it would, they would only show 30 seconds of it).

I think it depends where you are. Back in Mexico MTV latinamerica played a lot of Rock and metal and hardly any hip hop. There was another channel, Tele Hit, which played videos from all over the world and all genres. Here in the US MTV has nothing but reality shows and Hip Hop, hardly any Rock. MTV 2 has reinstituted Head Banger's Ball, which in the 80's played a lot of Pop metal (motely Crue, Stryper, Poison and the like). So geography plays a big role.

Im in Lithuania, thats in Europe, near the baltic sea. I don't thin we have our own mtv.

i have never seen one metal video on MTV but i've seen Aces High on mtv 2 before.

MTV showed a live cut of Run To The Hills as prelude to the Metallica gig of Rock Am Ring last year.
Viva at least has a metal show of 30 minutes once per week, and they brought a few Maiden songs from the gig in Dortmund last year.
