Deep Purple -- In Rock

It has probably been 10 years since I heard this, I found it in a used record store today and just finished listening to it.  Obviously Machine Head gets the most publicity (a great album to be sure).  But In Rock is a pretty tought one to beat, Child in Time and Flight of the Rat are just spectacular songs.

I just wish it had the production of machine Head. Child In Time and Black Night could easily go up against any song off Machine Head IMO.

Not to mention Into The Fire is hands down their best rocker and probably my favorite DP song.

I think Deep Purple in Rock is one of the 4 most important albums in the history of early Metal - these 4 albums virtually helped create the whole genre and imagery of metal :

Black Sabbath - 'Black Sabbath'
Deep Purple - 'In Rock'
Uriah Heep - 'Very 'Eavy Very 'Umble'
Lucifer's Friend - 'Lucifer's Friend'

Add to that list:
MC5-Kick Out The Jams and Led Zep's first album.
