Days Of Future Past

Dick Brucinson

The TRUE Dick Brucinson
when Senjutsu was released, to me Days Of Future Past was the weakest track of the album. now I love it. same anybody?

I originally thought it was one of the best because it reminded me of classic 80s Maiden, but over time l've grown to prefer the longer more complex songs (basically Disc 2).

Having said that I enjoy every song on this album. I think it is challenging Somewhere in Time as my all time favorite by the band.

There is a separate thread for Days of Future Past. It's nice that people want discussion and activity, but surely a new thread isn't needed everytime? :)

What about The Fallen Angel? 4 minutes and it works. Totally forgotten song.
I've always liked it but I remember when BNW came out, one of my friends just didn't like it at all and he thought the whole album suckedo_O
BNW is terrific album but I have to ask that person (if I ever see him again) that has he changed his mind about the album?

BNW sucks? if you never saw that person again all I can say about: nothing in life happens without reason.

BNW is brilliant from start to finish. The only gripe is the, eh, stuff Murray "borrowed". Actually, Days of Future Past sounds right out of BNW.

I agree, the whole BNW is absolutely brilliant (so I can't understand why "my friend" was so stuck to the past in 2000 when he dissed BNW) anyways, I don't mind that little "borrowing" from Dave it suits the song fine.
Back to the topic. Senjutsu is compact album, every song works and so..I think Days Of The Future Pas is examplary working rocker, from H and Bruce, it delivered truly what was asked from it. And it's cool that it's inspiration came from Constantine-movie.

Wildest Dreams is underrated.
I also agree with this. I’m not the biggest fan of the overly “happy” Maiden short-rockers, but Wildest Dreams just pummels the shit out of you live. Especially when Nicko is slamming his foot on the bass pedal for the very last part of the song. And Dance of Death has such a thick and gnarly guitar tone that any song sounds good from that album.

But still….Days of Future Past is something else. Reminds me of The Alchemist in that it’s a complex and nuanced song that disguises itself as lead single material.

It's a good song. Not one of the best on the album, though. Its intro looks like to the one of Judas Priest's "Rock Hard, Ride Free"...
